I really dig this, recording quality and all. I don't consider it a detriment at all. It put me in mind of the beginning of Peter Yorn - Life on a chain. It really adds a layer of intimacy in my opinion.

Ah, Life on a Chain. That's a compliment. Really enjoy Pete's first album although he went downhill after that. I've heard some good things about his latest effort though, may have to give it a listen.
