We bet our last five bucks to make a couple more
And turned three scratch-off tickets into a weekend trip
We were one more night of xbox from getting bored two weeks ago

Can't spend the days asleep and wake up to the same easy lies again

The television screen
Turned into a terminal event horizon

I'm not gonna scrape through all the best years of my life
It's unacceptable I won't surrender one single minute more
I'm not content with that
There's an urgency that defies all explanation
In just burning gasoline and blasting Jawbreaker

The streets are empty now
We're tourists in our own town
We assemble traffic by ourselves
We drew our own maps
To destinations we could barely see
Underneath the city streetlights



Rent 2, Part four: The Reckoning

All the trash on the floor reminds me to stay in bed
This 8AM routine's no longer funny
Walking down this street and stepping over broken glass has lost its charm

I don't really see the need in working through the week
Just to pay the rent and watch the television
I've been thinking more and more that I should find a way
To live without working a job I hate

I don't mind having just enough cash to get by
Just as long as I can buy cigarettes
Give me a fifteen dollar bottle of the the cheapest booze you've got. 
I'll give you a machine made for breaking furniture

Write out a list of all your rules
And I'll piss on them with impunity
I don't have whatever it takes to be a product
I burned my tags years ago
And scratched off my serial code
I don't have the patience to fake a facial expression
But I'm sovereign and I'm not sorry.

Good stuff! I like the dual vocals thing you have going on in the first song. Kinda get a Hold Steady vibe from you guys but a little heavier.
