I've had my BR for a few months now and getting the hang of it.  ;D

Here's a sample from dozens of tunes I've come up with on the MBR as I learn to play guitar.  Makes practice fun! 8)

BTW: NO external gear used.  Just a Les Paul clone plugged direct into the BR with stock effects.  Bass was a tough but used a modified bass patch and stayed low on the strings.

Any comments welcome!  (I'm sure I'm playing someone elses melody but haven't a clue what song it may be from.. ??? )

Nice little tune and nice arrangement of parts. Has sort of a vintage vibe to it, I think.    :)

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

Thanks guys, I need all the kudos I can get.  I listen to my stuff so much with all the editing and mixing that my wife hates it and I start thinking I'm the only one that's a fan!  ::)

I need more work in getting clean, smooth tracks.  I keep finding that after recording an inspired part that it has distortion in the peaks.  I didn't hear it when recording (or even playback due to the mix hiding it) but when hearing a part solo, it's pretty lame.

Back to practice.  :P

Just got round to listening to this, and it's f*cking brilliant. It reminds me of some strange game-show theme from the seventies or eighties. But then the first guitar solo has touches of Jefferson Airplane sixties psychedelia. It's a real mix of styles and influences, but I like that kind of approach and originality.

Seriously love it.

Looking forward to hearing some more!

I was half expecting Neil Hanlon's voice to appear after the intro.

What fun! Brilliant!

I went to Dante's house in Florence. It said 'home of the Divine Comedy'.

And guess what... not a guitar, Neil Hanlon quote, or music-related thing in sight.

What a load of arse  :D

hardlock mailed me a paired down version of the tune to try a vocal, i have sent him the vocal, is a ruff 1st go, you know how i work, and he is going to work round that but in the meantime i stuck the ruff vox over the original posting to see how it sounds and im quite pleased, needs lots of work but you can see the promis. in the style of neil hannon of the divine comedy we give you johnny's not in love, the awfully rough mix.
