This does look awesome...does anyone think that the reason the BR-800 firmware update is taking so long is because they are putting all of this functionality in that device as well?  Boy, I sure hope so!

For me, the lack of an ability to program (and play) MIDI loops is a real deal breaker.  The BR-80 would have been a complete winner if they had included Toneload and the rhythm editor of the BR-800.

I usually jam against a complex Flamenco backing track (or Greek/Middle Eastern musicians would do the same).  Without that flexibility, a musician is forced into really dumbed down 2/4 or 4/4 rhythms (or maybe a "waltz" which passes for 3/4, provided it is not simply 2/4 in triplets).  NOT professional.....

The BR-800 has it all in that sense (although I would like the ability to have a choice between global temp and pattern tempo).  The BR-80 is a cute toy, but hamstringing it in the rhythm area is very disappointing to me.  EBand is for teenagers, IMO.....  YMMV, of course.....

There may be workarounds (I'll have to see documentation, but the JS-8 does not look promising...)

I can't see the vid at work, I don't suppose it has a compressor on each track as well? If it did, I might not be able to resist!

Hi,

I've recently started playing guitar again .. got the Godin out of the cobwebs , dusted off the Micro BR, logged into this site to catch up a bit and BAM !!!  What do I see , an anouncement for a new Micro BR (80) .. this thing looks sweet .. I'm already drooling .. GAS big time .. the big seller for me is the 8 tracks recording as I'm not very good and bouncing tracks , using V-tracks etc .. I like to plugin, record and master .. my silks are pretty limited ..

OK do you guys know when this thing is coming out in Canada ?

Just watched the video - thanks, 64!

Some of those COSM fx are far out. Then there's the vocal harmonies. Then there's the 8 tracks. And the live recording function (will be interesting to see how good that is in practice now that I've heard how great the BR-800 is...). 

My God, it's bloody awesome!

Looks like I'll be splashing the cash for this one... !
