Sorry guys another Beatles cover from me... I'm recording Sgt. P + With a Little Help and am almost done. Vox on the last one remains. Did the vox on Sgt. P last night but not quite happy with the lead vox. Think I'll give it another try when I complete the two songs together. But I thought I would share this version on the first part (Sgt. Pepper) with you and maybe get some comments how to improve it.

And yes I ripped the first 9 seconds from the original  :)

WOW! I mean WOW WOW WOW! How the hell did you do this? It's beautifully done. And man, this is a tricky one to pull off. You've done a very dedicated and accurate job on every little part, and stitched it together in spectacular fashion.

My only pieces of constructive criticism is to put some more 'dirt' on the vocals, and the guitar on the chorus. By that, I mean that Paul really screams the vocals as if he's going to lose his voice any minute. And the right panned guitar on the chorus needs to be a bit fuzzier / dirty. As far as I understand it. the Beatles had just seen Hendrix play the previous night when they came into Abbey Road and wrote this. You can hear the Hendrix style all over it. It's almost Purple Haze in places.

I'm nitpicking though... it's bloody marvellous! You really know how to do a great cover!!!!!

Sundbo

Many thanks for your detailed feedback. I quite aware of the lack of dirt on the vocal. I don't think my voice is built for it  :D
On my next attempt I will try my best to scream... But the problem is that I usually get to record late in the evening and I'm afraid to wake up and scare my youngest son (10 months old)  :)
Didn't know about the inspiration from Hendrix but I'm sure you've got it right. It really does sound like Purple Haze. I'll play around with some different guitarsounds!

Geir

I've been waiting for this since I hears the instrumental version some days ago.

And it's been worth the wait for sure!!!! This is fabulous mr Sundbø !!! Those are some almost impossible high notes to reach and get some welly behind !!! But you've done well !! Sounds great as it is. Sure some more "dirt" wouldn't hurt (except your throught ;D) but it really sounds fab as is !!

I really envy your skill to get all the details done so perfectly, I do know how hard that is on the Beatles songs (I've tried a few ::) )

Great work !!! and looking forward to the next one ;)

Holy crap this sounds so close to the original. That snare drum sounds spot on and all the sound clippings and your vox are great Sundbo.

I can go on and on! Simulating a classic like this is a hard task and you pulled it off! Bravo!

This is one that I'm listening to, browsing the comments, Loving the music, and really into it. When it ends, I scroll to the top, press play again and start typing.

Incredible cover, I am really into this.

Really great job on this. You've got all the little details but have also given it a fresh new feel through your interpretation. Top class!
