Outdoor Miner: Wire

One of my favourite Wire songs ever, so you needed to be careful here. I'm glad you did it very differently from the original, because it would be really hard to better that and it would be awful to come off second best. This is a really nice treatment, you carry it very well with just a guitar part (and a great sound). The vocals are great and the multiple parts are really good. Great feeling in the vocal performance that suits the song perfectly.

Any idea what it's about? I read somewhere it's about some kind of insect......

Cheers,

Nigel

PS Jim's right, I love it!

Hi guys
i am aware that this is just a classic pop song of the highest calibre so was a little nervous about how to approach it. I'm glad you all approve :-)
Nigel i do believe it is an insect inspired song "serpintine miner" is a silverfish some kind of insect i know you get them living in carpets

P.S i remember finding a very sparse looking album called Pink Flag in my older brothers record collection many years ago and put it on the record player. I've never looked back, it was just amazing!

This sounds great!  I am only familiar with Jason Falkner's cover of it, it's an awesome tune and you performed it well.

How did I miss this?

Outdoor Miner is also one of my all time favorites, I remember recording off of John Peel back in the late Seventees.  I still have that tape somewhere...

I love your version.
