Hey Everyone
I hope everyone's having a great week.
Well here's another piece of my pipe dream, to form a band that can seamlessly slip from Folk, R&b, Blues, country even rap.
This one may be my next project. It was one of my first songs ever. Before I knew about panning, mixing or proper recording methods. most of which still alludes me.    :-\
I was so excited while writing this song. And banging on the keys and my cool little amateurish bass line, my horn section and my doubled vocals.    :D
Hot damn, I can do this music thang, if I just put my mind to it.   I was tickle pink and that ain't easy.   :)

Well I've progressed a bit so I think I'll revisit it for the project I'm trying to put together.
So, any suggestions will be appreciated.
I hope you find it enjoyable.

YEA! Good man with a good song! Really enjoyed that, not qualified or able to offer any suggestions, but it was real catchy!

So this is the original? Damn fine already.

Panning and stuff will open it up nice - although it works quite well in mono already. The main thing is the drums - all the instrumentation and vocal sounds like a bunch of guys having a good time, a drum arrangement (and possibly a different kit sound?) instead of a single pattern will really spice it up.

Pure quality as ever Nelson, this song has a real jaunty feel to it. Love the brass section, it really adds a nice extra touch in there, and the keys sound to me like you were doing more than just "bangin em".

I think a stereo mix would open it up more, and give it an even fuller sound. As AndyR says, the drums could be worked on further, with some fills being added to give it some variation.

I am in the process of going back to a lot of early songs a re-doing them, as I was basically mixing them in mono in my early days on the Micro BR, so I have been there too!

Good blues song with real soul...I agree with AndrewR about the drums and if you can't get a real horn section I'd suggest harmonica or lose the synth horns completely.

Great song, and a hot bass line.
It kinda reminds me of Albert King, and possibly Jr. Wells....
Loving it much, just wish I could download it to my mp3
player to hear it proper!

Love it - I dig the rollicking piano, and your vocal is bluesy and confident. Would love to hear this with a BIG horn section! The title/tag line chorus is memorable.

Great blues song, Nelson! Love your vox, upbeat tempo, and the great instrumentation - a happy blues. Love the spoken word intro/outro!
