back again with this little noodle.

i've been on a quest to find a double bass sound without buying a double bass. tight space and funds are dictating that it's an impossible goal. but, in my search, i've found out about the world of the short scale bass and have become smitten. so, i bought an inexpensive (CFO approved) short scale bass to do some experimental modifications to see if i can get to nirvana.

so, here is a test run with two tracks.

by the way, i haven't made any mods yet and the roundswounds are still on the axe.

as always, thanks for taking the time to listen.

thanks all for taking your time to listen.

daniel - it's a Fender Squire Bronco Bass. $150 US and i think it has great tone and sustain for such an inexpensive guitar. the 30" scale must have something to do with the fact that the string tension is far less then that of a 34" scale bass.

This is 2 cool Mr. 2Kewl. Is this fretless???... sure sounds like it. Such a big beefy sound. Sounds like some Cliff Burton influenced scale diddling Eh. Very nice... I say money well spent.

These are tasty noodles. A very soothing trip, indeed. Someting about the tone reminds me of Radiohead's 'Everything in the right place'. Great work!
