this was an experiment at trying to approach things differently,

i have a habit of recording to my own bpm

this time however i started with drums,

i then deliberately tried not to play in time with them,

which is a lot harder than it sounds,

not sure if i succeeded on that score.

i am not putting up any lyrics for this one, there are three separate sets for each of the 3 vocal tracks. so will leave it cryptic, tho i'm sure someone will work out what its all about.

all music done on juno di and transferred to cubase sx2 and manipulated

vox 1 using guitar effect 22 texas st to two tracks for stereo effect
vox 2 using guitar effect 72 pan+delay to two tracks for stereo effect
vox 3 using onboard mic fornylon setting to two tracks for double mono effect lol.

nothing is real... So theres nothing to get hung about!

Oldrottenhead

a brief explanation.

voice one is singing as many titles of associates songs i could remember.

voice two is singing dont you just wish you said hello.

voice three is singing
did you ever meet
did you ever hear
did you ever see billy.

it's about sitting at a table next to billy mackenzie in burger king at glasgow queen street train station  having a coffee, i so wanted to speak to him and tell him how much i admired him and his work but i didnt want to disturb him so we just exchanged smiles. when he passed away i was so regretful i didnt just say hello.

This sounds in time to me! The vocal arrangement works brilliantly - really ethereal and trippy. I thought the three and a half minutes flew by on this one. Another bit of juno magic by the maestro.

And that's a cool subject for a song. I had the same situation (separately...!) with Noel Gallagher and Feargal Sharkey, and decided not to say anything to either. Really wish I'd spoken to Feargal - I love The Undertones. I also had the same situation with Michael Bolton outside of Capitol Records in Hollywood (in 1990!), and went out of my way NOT to talk to him, lol.

Would have loved to meet Billy Mackenzie!

Very trippy Jim, I'll have a pint of what you're drinking if it will help me to be as diverse as your material can be. Download for when I get home............Willie
