Just so that you don't all forget me (who?) I decided that as a sort of keyboard player I should submit a tune to the Emufest.  As the deadline is today, I knocked this out really quickly so I apologise for the rough mix and the fact that I copied and pasted my own lines here and there rather than play them differently as I would normally do.

I'm going through a bit of a middle-eastern phase at the moment and so this sounds a bit Lawrence of Arabia-ish (that's what the harmonic minor scale does to you).  Difficult not to sound sci-fi with synths so, as a result of all the talk of Blade Runner, this is called "Do Camels Dream of Electric Sheep?"

All the best

Excellent tripped out madness!!! Hell yeah! I can only imagine what kind of belly dancer would be needed for this number...

Very cool!

Oh yes. Love the bended notes! I dig this kind of exotic eastern scale, and there's a lot of sonic depth with that burbling, dirty bass. This is superior stuff... a first class instrumental, for sure. Doesn't sound like a rough mix to me!

LOVE IT !!!!

Some parts of it reminds me a bit of Tony Carey (sp?) ...

This is great music !!!!

All played today on my Yamaha Motif XS7.  I initially recorded the piece using the built in 16 track midi recorder and then recorded it in 4 stereo pairs into my BR1600 to use the mastering toolkit and burn to CD.

I love this, Paul - really digging the Eastern feel you were able to inject into an electronic piece, very melodic and a strong rhythm. Plus a Blade Runner/PKD reference is always appreciated!

Loving this, I'm surprised Tim didn't mention Japan, the backing sounds really Japan-ish from Tin Drum era! It hangs together really well and I really like the eastern scales, especially when you harmonize the melody. Some really fab synth sounds in there, just loved the whole thing. Super Emufest entry!

Cheers,

Nigel

Damn this is cool! Unique and dynamic. Reminds me of Rain Tree Crow - a Japan (collaboration) project.
