I don't usually like to post a new song within a few days of the last one, but I couldn't contain myself  :D

The excitement comes from me discovering that the trem / vibrato arm on my Danelectro can produce some really nice tones (with a bit of practice and effort...). I've never 'done' whammy bars before, but may well be a convert now. Hmmm... a Gretsch with a Bigsby is luring me... lol

This is the Danelectro, a Takamine acoustic, and a Fender Precision bass (that I borrowed), all recorded and mixed on the MBR. It's the title track of my latest jumble of songs.

I'm pretty proud of this one  :)

COLLECTION BOX – GREENY

Take pity on the paupers
And those who cannot see
Everybody needs some kindness
Donations for their need

But I'm desperate for your kisses
Your passion and your time
A never-ending hunger for your body and your mind

Chorus:

So...

Please give... generously
Please give... generously
Please give... generously
To this heart's collection box
To this heart's collection box

Bridge:

Dish it out like Robin Hood
Before the sun goes down for good
And we're too tired to realise

It's not just thankless charity
I'll double what you give to me
Donations to your sighs

So take all your complications
And put them in the box
It's a need that won't diminish
I'll take everything you've got

Repeat:  Chorus – Bridge – Chorus

And i`m pretty proud for this. I`ve never tried a Danelectro before but now that i hear this i`m gonna have to get out there and jam with one.

I love these words Tim. And you sing them like it is all true to yourself. Great bass as always too!!

You should be proud Tim!
Not only is this a stand-alone GREAT song, but you've added some sweet
Vibrato guitar to this.
I was thinking that I too may well be interested in looking into getting
one as well....

Simply beautifully played Tim.

You put together a fine masterpiece, Tim! Love the dual rhythm guitar with the walking bass.

Wow, this song is very quickly getting stuck in my head. Those guitar tones are wonderful, as is the bass line and the laid back vocal is perfectly delivered.

The drum programming deserves a mention to, love how you have mixed them up and like how they drop away and pick up again at various times in the verses.

Second listen already of this top song!

Cheers guys! It's a very basic trem (see pic below). It can't do Van-Halen dive bombs, but if you hold it as you play and give it some fast vibrato (oo errr missus!), it gives the notes and chords a nice shimmer. It's a guitar that's set up to get that kind of Link Wray surf sound (if you're that way inclined). Looks a bit like a butter knife though, lol....

Hi Tim, another gem. I just love the lyrics on this, I have the feeling that once you'd started they just flowed. Nice guitar work, I've played Danelectros in the past but never one with a whammy bar. I seem to remember the treble will cut you off at the knees if you're not careful. Download for when I get home......Willie
