Thanks. My GR20 died and I'm trying to find a replacement. Either another GR or another way.
There is a plugin now that converts to midi with very little delay and it plays whatever virtual instruments you want.
You would need to buy them however.

There are several possibilites, Glenn:

A) hardware solutions: GR55 (no computer needed); Fishman TriplePlay (for VST instruments); using the Guitar-to MIDI USB of Roland GP-10 (for VST instruments); Sonuus i2M (for VST instruments)

B) software solution: Guitar-to-MIDI V2 (still in beta for PC & Mac, available for iOS). again for VST instruments

Yes, thanks.
I've seen the GR55 and it looks tempting but still expensive.
It does allow for stage performance effects tho.
Some have criticized the GR series sounds as being unreal but I was happy.
I was referring to to the Guitar to midi in my post but I'll look into your other suggestions Thanks!
