Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

Thanks for the comments guys. I don't often post stuff that I have been the instigator of. My wife usually shakes her head and it gets binned.

Quote from: 64Guitars on February 19, 2011, 05:59:40 PMWhich keyboards did you use? Is that the Roland SH-201? And did you use a different keyboard for the strings?

All synths are SH-201 except for James' Juno for the arpegiated piano. There are two string sounds done wih the super saw wavform, the basic sound is the same for both, the filtering was tweaked for each. There's a sequenced synth, you can hear it fade at the end and a delayed simple voice which I struggled to keep in time. Drums were done in Hydrogen, bass is a fretless jazz with chorus, guitar is my Godin Solidac lubricated with Ozzy cab sauv which is why it's probably quite ropey.
James added the piano early on when I sent him the bare bones of the track to put some words too. It's incredible how lyrics and a vox can take a dry track and provide instant richness.

Not happy with the bass on this, I have re-done it in a different style. I've also had a bit of a re-mix, ORH's piano is still there (don't panic James). This now has a chunkier feel I think and probably is better than the previous sliding bass.

It was the bass that I got first on this one so it's strange that it's been dropped.

Right that's me done. Ive turned into a posting tart.

Ooh, only just got to this, and I'm loving it. This has to hold the record for the most remixes on one page! I like the last mix (on page 1, haven't been to p2 yet, there could be more....). Love the kind of funky feel with walls of synths that makes it a real interesting combo. The drums are excellent, might have to check out what you used. Love the ending as well.

The bass playing reminded me of Norman Watt-Roy, after his name came up on the bassists thread, and I really, really liked it, excellent stuff. It could be louder though..........but you knew I would say that!

Cheers,

Nigel
