This one is still rough but needed closure so I wouldn't get burned out.  :-\

TOMAS
------------------------------
   Better days will be ahead
   No more cares it's all been said
   We seek  the same as everyone
   Just want the freedom to have fun
=======================
Good to see you back again
   been gone too long my friend

I'm sad we didn't stay in touch
   but good feelings never end
---
We had to go our separate ways
   to find the lifes we need

But after all this time it seems
   we now are up to speed
====
You lived the dream and have the life
   your talent took you far

You followed passion all the way
   now you are a star
---
I'm envious of your success
   thought I've have it too

But other things I learned from you
   have never made me blue
========================
There's never been a better time
   to say I've learned the rules

It took me way too long I'm sure
   but had to find the tools
---
The ones I hurt along the way
   remorseful still I feel

No words can fix the broken hearts
   of souls I chose to steal
====
You might just find that what you want
   isn't what you said

And realize your soul
   is still craving to be fed
---
So strive to be inspired
   and wake the sleeping mind

To new directions for your life
   that you long to find

I love this. It has quite a late 60's sound... kind of West Coast, and a bit like the band Love. There's a real sense of urgency to the movement, and the little bluesy lead licks you throw in are wonderful (Bobby Kreiger of the doors would appreciate these!). All in all, an amazing track. Thought-provoking lyrics too. Superb work.

I think this is one of those ones were the song has exactly the right amount of detail, and more specifics would take away from the song's impact. Love the lyrics and feel.

Brilliant tune and brilliant story - makes the lyrics so relevant. Agree with Tim, it captures that late 60s sound well. I hope Tom realises you are famous on Songcrafters, that's some accolade you know! The lead guitar lines are really good, I love the feel they create.

I love the band pic and the name - Blue Toad Flax is so 60s! There was a humourous column in the UK in the 70s/80s and the guy used to poke fun at psychedelic and prog bands, and one of his made up names was Chocolate Meringue Narthex, Blue Toad Flax immeditaely brought this to mind!

Cheers,

Nigel

Great piece of music with fantastic lyrics. You've really improved as a singer. Overall, loved the tune, but that lead guitar work was a show stealer. I loved the not selection and vibe you gave off with it.
