...your BR could become completely useless for want of a memory card. You can't even use it for the effects without a working memory card because it won't start up.

I broke my micro sd card adapter lock tab, and it wouldn't stay "clicked in", so I got a "No Card" error for the first time. I remembered this thread so I'd like to offer what I experienced when using an MBR with no card. All the effects seemed to work, and the preset portion of the drum machine did as well. Unfortunately (And obviously) you couldn't arrange your own patterns. Only the built in ones worked.

So I guess you could use it as an effects processor if no card was in it, and User save mode is available to save the settings.

Thought somebody might like to know.
