Hello! A Microphone question.

Two microphones. Should they work with the MICRO BR?

1) MXL condenser that runs on phantom power

2) Shure SM58

The MXL condenser worked for awhile in the linein jack, but now I cannot get any meter response.

No response from the Shure in the linein jack.

I have played with the sensitivities, made sure the LINE was selected as input.

Any suggestions? Will only electrets work?

Thanks

You will need a seperate preamp to run either of those mics properly plus the MicroBR does not supply phantom power (48v)

It may be possible to connect the SM58 directly in but the MicroBR does not have enough preamp gain to get a good sound (50-60dB)

Something like an ART project preamp or any mixer should supply enough gain and phantom power for your needs. I've been using a spare PA mixer to power my mics and then send a mix to the MBR.
