Bo Diddley must be spinning in his grave after hearing what I did to his song.

Thank you, Alex.
Haven't heard from you in a while. I trust you and your family are well.
Except for being buried under 15 inches of snow and ice, wife and I are in good shape.

I got a new toy this past Christmas. Mrs Demon gifted me with a Boss DR-880 drum machine.
You listened to it on this tune. My first programming effort that doesn't sound like drunk jungle drummers.

Stay warm!

Thanks, Rob.
I'm really enjoying the DR-880. Everyone needs one of these gadgets.
Even the built-in tracks are quite good, and there are 500 presets to play with.
Bass and drums can be utilized together or individually. Its all user-definable.

I have to have anything that comes with a 166 page manual. Fortunately none of that info
has inhibited my use of the machine. That's because I'm still on the index page.

I nominate this for the RecycleFest!

SD: You should add "RecycleFest" to the subject to make sure it catches 64G's attention.

Have you ever heard a band playing covers, and they've jazzed-up or funked-up every song that they do, as though to say, "We're really much better than the material we're deigning to play?"

Yes? No?

Well, that's what this reminds me of.

He's spinning in his grave with the funk! Great version, I love the guitar solos. Is all the bass programmed on the DR880? If so, it sounds pretty darn good. And if you played it, then wow!

Cheers,

Nigel

Greeny

Such a classic song. I love the Doors live version of this, and the one George Thorogood turned into a bluesy slide-fest. This is brave, jazzy and beautifully done. There's something about the sound of a slap bass that always appeals to me. This is a great take on the original. My only criticism is that the mix sounds a bit 'flat' - i.e. it could be a bit more dynamic (more treble, maybe...?). Fantastic work though.

Thank you, gentlemen.

Greeny, yes, I spent far more time on the instrument tracks than I did tuning the vocals on this one.
I will fine-tune those tracks. They definitely could be a bit brighter.

I love songs that literally grab you and, before you know it, you're tapping your toes and swaying
to the music.

Time for a Funk Fest, guys and gals.
