I'm back in business as far as recording gear goes - just downloaded the new Mixcraft by Acoustica. It's what I had on the computer that died a couple months back. But this is three updates later, and so far it looks pretty cool.
So I took a simple piano/vocal song I did a while back and added some subtle effects to it - experimented with some different things, and then decided to dial it back a bit to something that still sounds live, but sweeter.
It's a lullaby - I've probably written a half dozen of these for my daughter over the years. But this is also about how she's growing up (she will be 9 next week), and it made me feel all mushy and sentimental to hear it again.

Song For the End Of the Day

Here's a song for the end of the day
so easy to sing and to play
Another song to sing you to sleep
hope you're never too old for songs like these

Here's a song for the end of the day
as you drift off, I sing you away
Sounds like the others, it's true
but I could never write too many of these songs for you

Here's a song for the end of the day
so easy to sing and to play
hope you tuck this memory away
and share it with your own kids someday

simply beautiful Chip.  Great song.  Kinda reminds me of Wilco's "My Darling" from the great Summerteeth album.

Great songcrafting. Love those chord changes.  Nice vox and piana also.
Dance as if no one were watching.
Sing as if no one were listening.
And live every day as if it were your last.

Very nice, chip - I got a bit of later-Harry Nilsson vibe from it, very spare and poignant.

Honour the earth. Without it, we'd be nowhere.

Life is too important to take seriously.
