This is me and my retro Yamaha PSS-50 keyboard, plugged into the MBR via a standard guitar lead (which let me make use of some guitar patches - most notably 'Tubesock'). It really opened up the sonic possibilities... I was getting closer to some Kraftwerk tones with this method. The drums are from the MBR.

I try to sing a bit in German. 'Try' being the operative word, lol. Don't be harsh... !

The song is pretty much about foxes f*cking. The way the male screams when he gets his tackle snagged on the inner barbs of Mrs Fox... for hours on end.

Bit of a weird song really....  :D :D :D :D

A Fox in the Hinterland

a little spark in the ammo of love
soon becomes a conflagration
and it burns like a loon as the summer moon
blushes with consternation

when you put your jack in the electric vixen
you can hear the feedback scream and drone
when you put your jack in the electric vixen
you can feel the feedback in your bones

like a fox in the hinterland
(zwei fuchse treffen sich)
like a fox in the hinterland
(die mannlichen fuchsschreie)

there is no nocturne that could soothe the rage
when desire gets its claws in
and the tango they dance in the hedgerow dark
is both horror and elation

repeat bridge & chorus

Insanley catchy tune, you have really got the retro 80's sound going on here. The German sounds good to me, like the way you have kept this kind of in the background and used a different vocal effect (sounds like a guitar effect to me?). The dual vocals sound wicked in the chorus too.

Nice departure from your usual guitar based songs, and would love to hear more from you in this style..its fantastic.

This is totally pimp. I'm not entirely convinced that percussion is on the MBR it's wicked cool! Tim this is a fantastic bit of music. I was hooked within the first 2 seconds.

Yep... it's all 808 kit on the MBR. The rest of it is all played note by note on the keyboard, as there are no sequencers or anything.

The German part is sung through the 'Moonage' patch.

It's quite weird playing 'retro' stuff like this, as it doesn't feel retro to me at all. It's just like going back to where I started in 1981. This is pretty much the same as I did back then!

Really like this song. Sounds so much 80's, and the lyrics are great. Especially the metaphor of the jack and the electric (vixen).

The bass tone is great. From what you wrote, I understand is a keyboard patch , but really sounds like a (expensive) bass synth.
