That riff was great fun to play, right up till the record light was on. At that point my fingers on both hands got performance anxiety and stopped working.

There are several guitar tracks in various guises (all on the Tele'), the rest is GB.

I never saw Ian Dury live (one of my regrets) but I saw the bass player on this - Norman Watt-Roy - getting on 20 times with Wilko Johnson. It's a pleasure to do one of his tracks, he's a real hero of mine.

YEAH ! Brilliant. As is often the case with us two, this is one I'd had a look at doing but the drums and keys were too tricky for me. You've done a great job on the guitars, bass, drums and vocals.

Excellent cover, Nick. Brings me right back to 1978 (when I first heard it on our shores).

Nice one, man.

This is mucho excellent! I didn't know i knew this song until i heard that riff. The lyrics really do outline a "healthy" way of living.

As for the fingers. That's why you should record the first take(s). That's why you have the homestudio :) If nothing else works. Blame the Tele for having a knackered setup!

I've always loved this song from the Stiffs Live album. You've done it justice - right down to the accent. (I don't ever want to hear a version of this song without the accent.)

When I saw your name pop up along with this song I knew you would do a great cover. It's perfect for you. Great vocals, with the total spirit of Ian in there. He would totally approve. Super job with everything else, there is a lot going on, but it's all really good. I did see Ian Dury, I think it was Finsbury Park? in the 80s when i lived in London, I think Madness were also playing.
