There is a wildness, a frenzy to this, in words and in temperament, that wonderfully captures a mind going in 100 directions at once. Riveting!

Lovely and magical. It's absolutely transporting to a magical, lush realm. And the singing! And the production! The whole things is just gorgeous.

Awesome grit and energy! Down and dirty blues-tinged rock, this is utterly satisfying!

This has a king of 60s/70s pop grandiosity to it that is very appealing! There's an intensity that absolutely hooked me.

I'm really getting into the delicate, pastoral-pop vibe and gentle contemplative aura. Perfect for a lazy weekend afternoon.

Original Songs / The Way That She Eats
Last post by OdilonGreen - Yesterday at 12:56:54 PM

This is my first song post here at Songcrafters, so I figured I should do something pretty typical for me: a song about eating. (I usually write about *competitive* eating, but this is more of a love song to an eater.) I also write about Bigfoot and beards.

I'm looking forward to being an active member here!

VERSE 1

I walked into Joe's late Friday night
Lookin' for a snack, maybe something light
But then I saw her in the fluorescent glow
Fork in her hand, putting on a show

No candlelight, no fancy wine
Just a girl and a plate piled mountain-high
And though Joe's makes the greasiest chili cheese fries
It wasn't clogged arteries that made my pulse rate rise

CHORUS

It ain't the curls in her hair, but the way that she chews
And the look in her eye as she attacks her food
It's the fire, the passion, the hunger, the heat
Lord, I'm in love with the way that she eats

VERSE 2

She don't cut small, she don't take it slow
She moves fierce like a bull at a rodeo
Wipes her mouth with the back of her sleeve
And I swear right then, I forgot how to breathe

She don't count calories, won't won't be denied
She's got a love for eating everything deep fried
Every single bite is like a work of art
And I knew right then she would devour my heart

CHORUS

It ain't the cash in her bank, but the way she don't care
If during her meal, people just stop and stare
It's the fearless, the reckless, the wild and the free
Lord, I'm in love with the way that she eats.

BRIDGE

She caught me watching and cracked a grin
Said, "You want a taste?" as she pulled me in
She licked the crumbs off her lips, and I knew it was fate
Love's a lot like chili cheese fries: messy, but great

CHORUS

It's the tilt of her head and the sparkle she's got
And the blush in her cheeks when she's eating a lot
It's her hunger for life, how she won't let go
Whatever she asked, I knew I'd never say no.

It ain't the curls in her hair, but the way that she chews
And the look in her eye as she attacks her food
It's the fire, the passion, the hunger, the heat
Lord, I fell hard for the way that she eats

It ain't the cash in her bank, but the way she don't care
If during her meal, people just stop and stare
It's the joy in each bite, like her life is a feast
Lord, I'm in love
Yes, lord I'm in love
Lord, I'm in love with the way that she eats

This is a cool direction you've taken with your songwriting Kenny! It's has excellent words and the melody is perfect for a sing along. For some reason it reminds me of Harry Nilsson's style of writing. Very well done all around!
