When I was in Norway, I come to a conclusion...
I post Songs that are very personal...
All are about bad times (with the good that I have found in them)....
Some Just about the Sad......
I wanted to stop posting songs that were so "personal"......
"Christmas in London" was Shared on Skype with Tony Wells first off...
It was Intercepted by ORH.... (The Song Whore that he is... LOL )
He Sang a very personal Lyric on the tune...
A Lyric that made me sad...
It Really hit home about Christmas for me...
Subjects Like my dad who is no longer here (Or His Dad who he sung about)....
Family who I don't Know.....
It was probably the most meaningful tune me and ORH ever Created....
But I didn't want something so personal...
I wanted something generic... That people could relate to....
As a result I think I offended a good friend.....
Recently, I realized something (or should I say remembered...)....
The Bad defines the Good......
A Christmas song "CAN" be about the bad times!
About things that make you sad.....
To forget them would be foolish...
I'm Sorry Jim...
I was trying to be something that I am not....
The Music was (as I played it) was filled with memories of Loss..
You must have picked up on that..... As you always do....
(Forgetting emotion is to deny ones self ......But Dont get me wrong though... The other version really hits the spot for my Christmas bone..!!!)
Here is a song Called "It wont be long Till Christmas"
No Frills....
Just What the Tune was about in my mind....

Same with the guitar!!!! LOL!!!
:)
But it's had a rewrite!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59RfPRHqwCAThis was something for us!!
Guys!
The guitars/lyrics might indeed need a little rework :D... but WOW, there is something about it as it is. Glad you posted it, T :)
As at least one of my kids probably will end up in London next year, maybe Christmas in London will be an experience I will enjoy some time in the future.
There's a good chance this one will be on the soundtrack to that journey ;D ;D
Whats with all this talk of rewriting stuff , that first post is amazing just as it is , Thareks guitar is raw and pure , and ORH's vox is probably in my opinion , the second best i've heard from him ( the first being in Norway ) WOW ,i'll play this all night while i,m getting slowly inebriated
Rob
Very nice collab indeed! Video really adds to the songs depth.
Wonderful - wish I'd heard this before Christmas but I heard it now. Lovely combination, Jim's vox actually work very well here. I know it may be a different feel to what you originally intended Tharek, but this works in its own way and gives a different perspective to your wonderful guitar work. Simply brilliant.
Cheers,
Nigel
Awwww Jeeeez this is intense. I love the way you play and record your guitars Tharek, really captures the feeling. Jim, this is damn fine vocals. Don't touch a thing guys, you could never make this better.
I did listen earlier but forgot to comment. It's always a bit difficult for me because I have to download the songs before I can listen to them, and I usually download a bunch of songs in a row and listen to them later (in bed) with head phones - sometimes only days or weeks later. That's the reason why I ask you guys to give your tracks names that make them recognizable. :) But I usually rename the tracks myself, unless I'm being distracted.
Anyway, this is a very, very nice collaboration again. Tharek's emotional guitar playing and Jim's vocals make a very fine combination.
Regards,
Steffen

Very touching... definitely not generic.

Stunning thought provoking song!!
Fantastic acoustic finger picking with chord progressions to die for, and the vocal is just out of this world
Works perfectly for me just the way it is.
On This Day bump.

otdb thinking of you Tharek.
"Soncrafter Classic" indeed! Performed by two SC pioneers.
Love the simplicity of it, and the meaningful lyrics.
