Well, I used to be somebody, now I'm a nobody. Is that a day job?
I was a developer in SNA Networking in Montreal, hand-held device programmer, then an IBM helpdesk low-level Leader in Edmonton. I was working at a garage for a few months, now lay concrete decorative flooring. Here's mud in your eye, IT field! (no offense to IT peoples who still have a job out there, I decided I was going to be laid off for the 2nd & final time last Christmas, now I am in the trades.)

Everyone's a somebody, no-one's a nobody ;)

Oh yeh, I make guitars too.
High school journalism teacher. As far as teaching gigs go, it's a good one - a very good one, compared to some of the places I've taught. Sometimes I feel guilty that I have it so nice (fully equipped, up-to-date technology, eager students) but then I remember the places I've been and think, hey, I deserve this!
Retired Coast Guard, now working on locomotives (I love horsepower!!)
Maintenance Group Leader underbodys Jaguar Halewood Body Shop .
Dunny
Former journalist/lecturer/translator. Long-time English-language copyeditor.
I work freelance, mainly from home. Not really a "day" job, since I can work whatever hours I like.
Quite an advantage. ;)
Donna
PS: Chip, I know what you mean about teaching gigs. Just for the experience, I once spent a year teaching literature/photography/media studies to high school kids (aged 13-18). Job-wise, it was the most gruelling year I've ever had. ;D Was relieved to get back to teaching at tertiary level and later privately. :D
A lot more fun having students who want to learn.

Nick
Given up trying to find someone to employ me (too old) - so I've started up as a self employed consultant - and incredibly managed to find what looks like at least a few months' work with an ex colleague. Start tomorrow so unlikely to post much new music for a while. Nick has at least one False Prophet tune on the go so he might post that at some stage when it's done.
In the meantime - all the best and I'll be back - just like Arnie and MacArthur!
Regards
Paul Chapman
Congrats Paul! And good luck with the new engagement. Try making some time to make music tho!! We will miss you if you're not here !
Thanks Geir. I'll do my best to knock up a tune or two.
