Hi to all,
Just starting out with the BR. Laid down drums (from an Alesis SR-16) and rythym/synth (from a Godin Freeway/Roland GR-20) today to the Dido White Flag song. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the band later this week to complete the work and will post it when complete.
2 questions:
What is the best way to record vocals - internal mic or external?
If tracks are bounced down to a virtual track can they be exported and mixed individually (with MixPad)?

You might get some differing opinions on here, but I think that the internal mic is perfect for both vocals and acoustic guitar. And because of the size of the BR, you can just hold it in your hand like a normal mic. Have a listen to the 'post your work' thread, and check out the quality of vocals on the internal mic. I know at least Oldrottenhead and I are recording vocals straight into the BR.
I know nothing about virtual tracks, so someone else will have to give you advice on that.

Any of the 32 tracks can be exported, regardless of whether they are the result of a bounce or original recordings. V-tracks are not an alternative to tracks. They are merely a way of specifying the location of a track in the 4 x 8 grid or matrix. The 32 tracks are arranged in a 4 x 8 grid because the BR's built-in mixer only has 4 channels. So 8 tracks are connected to each channel of the mixer, and you choose which of the 8 tracks to use by specifying the v-track for the channel. One v-track is selected per channel at all times (new songs default to v-track 1 on each channel).

I've recently expanded my "V-Tracks and Bouncing" tutorial (http://www.geocities.com/sixtyfourguitars/BossBr/Tutorials/V-Tracks_and_Bouncing.html). Hopefully, that will help you to understand v-tracks.
