Unbelieveable!!! Cockshined and gleaming this one - I can't wait to hear it on bigger audio.
Fantastic additions, Cuth! The instrumentation and vocal harmonies really fit the bill.
It's a beaut !!!
Fanbloodytastic actually !!
Great additions Cuthbert !!
Excellent stuff guys , nicely produced as well
Rob
Hot damn, henwrench, that's some fine production you done there!
I was thinking myself this weekend that a lap steel would fit in nicely someplace, and then like telepathy there it is! It was a real pleasure working with yah on this - the first of I hope many collabs with you.
cheers,
cuth
just too cool !
I've been checking out dulcimers on e-bay........ want one!!
henwrench
I'm still a noob on dulcimer, but I like the sound of the four and five string mountain dulcimers...they are the most chimey.
I'll see if I can scare up a pic of mine...
Great collab - love the changes in pace.
Can tell you two know how to mix those tracks - this is a fine production.
Geoff
Your vox really go well together, add that to all the cool sounds going on this just adds up to a great song.
Tis indeed done. Full of wonder, this one, would make old Neil cry from the beauty. Shimmering with gold.
Wow...Now i can download this!! Its finished right?
So perfect for you to bring Cuth in on this one Hen.
Great harmonies and acoustics added. You guys play alot of whacky things. That dulcimer sounds great!!
As you say! BOSS
What a good story and a lovely song. Puts me in mind somehow of Old Worlde paintings...
(Just wish lyrics were posted. ;) )
Definitely a touch of Neil Young in the vocals. A fine collab, you two. :)
Donna
Stunning collab, henwrench & cuth!!! Awesome production, fantastic tune and top harmonies. => piepod....
Kari
Good song.
brilliant, top song & top production - so many things going on but still great clarity in the mix.
excellence.
I love how the bass drives the verses, yet it's pretty minimalist bass.
On my second listen now. Won't be my last.
Really enjoyed the listen, well performed and great arrangement. Fine mix of all that was going on. When the song first kicks off I get a feel of Tom Petty phrasing in the vocals.....love it!
Way cool song with way cool additions!! Luv the driving bass as well, vocals, and backing vox, cool layered acoustic over the electric guitar!
I hear the Neil Young as well.
I love Cuth's adds!
Henny Has A Winner here....
LG
can't stay away, very nice sound here.
me neither bb, we are like flies round shit and this is good shit.
a belter. much better than picasso's painting.
Brilliant stuff chaps. Great arrangement and production.
Paul
I just heard this with the updates.
This is another masterpiece!
I love all the layers and the little touches such as the harmonics from 1:50 to 2:14.
This is a wonderfully inspired arrangement.
Was that an appalachian dulcimer, or a hammered dulcimer?
That's an Appalachian dulcimer - it's making those chimey notes you hear.
Henwrench added some lap steel to the later verses, and he hit those harmonics from it. I think the two instruments turned out a pretty tasty combo...and this is an interesting project with great storyline and lyrics from you, FuzzFace!
Great collab guys.
Excellent production.
I love all the instruments and vox are real solid.
This is an instant classic.
Nice work to all of you.
Dave
Holy Shit!
I don't know what to say apart from "BOSS"!!!!!
I can hear every instrument and note! Stunning Production !!!!!!!!
Rules Gents...
F'ing RULES!
Goodness, I completely missed this, didn't realise there was a new version. This is even more wonderful than the previous one, great job Cuth.
This absolutely confirms a discussion I just had with Fuzz Face on the Picasso thread. I won't do any additional production on these tracks unless people want me to (eg Fuzz Face said he would like some help if he does something). I can't add anything to tracks of this quality, and there's a serious chance I could cock them up (and not in a shining way!).
Wonderful guys, just wonderful. This is incredibly high quality work.
Cheers,
Nigel

I still think it would be a good idea for you to at least have the master two track versions, Nigel. Just to play with the overall levels and basic EQing, to keep every song on a level as it were. All compilation 'albums' need a guy with good ears to oversee the final 'product'.... and you de man!!
henwrench
Happy to do that if folks want to send me the two wav files of the finished stereo version. I can at least get the volume levels similar across the tracks. Just ping me with whatever file sharing mechanism you want to use.
I will tread with care on this one, it's a beauty.
Cheers,
Nigel
Marvellous marvellous stuff.
Had to come back to hear the Dulcimer.
Mining for ideas.
What other instruments do you have in your repetoire?

Too many! ;)
From what I see here in my home office right now, I have a ukulele, lap steel guitar, acoustic guitar, toy piano, and a couple of 70s rhythm machines.
I am master of none of them. :)
bowies sperm landed on syds acid and magic happened grrr

Thanks Todd!
I did mic it...well, sort of - I actually used the MicroBR onboard microphone, and then henwrench did some of his magic to bring the levels up because my original recording was pretty low.
cuthbert you should make a YouTube video tour of all your instruments in action.
That would be interesting to see.

Just might do that someday... :D
This is really brown. It really reminds me of White Pepper era ween.
Just relistening to this summery hazy ditty.
A nostalgic vignette.
Floaty and cloudy yet direct.
An delectable showcase of mastery.
I'm into it.
Yeah, what everyone on the first page said. Plus, I like the arrangment. This mix is great, it has space and fills it nicely but still doesn't clutter it up.
I've a mountain dulcimer (4 string) that my father and I made when I was around 14 years old. It has needed strings for over 20 years, I think. Never seen a 5 string before. I was okay a long time ago (over 20 years, obviously) but love it here. Now you got me thinking about buying some strings.
Brilliant !!!!!
Nuff said !!
on this day bump. hope you are hanging in there henny.
otd bump for my first collab with good ol' Henny, with lyrics by FuzzFace.
