A bit of tomfoolery. ;)
The hook/title and idea for the lyric came from a postcard I saw a while ago on postsecret.com. What a treasure trove! :D
Would love to hear this as a fun little rocker. Anyone feel like contributing music/vocals? I'd love to work with collaborators on this. If anybody feels like laying down an initial bedtrack, please PM or email me first with your music idea. We'll take it from there. ;)
I'm Afraid of Naked Women
(v1)
When they compel me
To whisper my secrets
And force me into confession
I dread to imagine
Their primal descent
Into notions close to obsession
Chorus
I'm afraid of naked women
They make me tense and nervous
I start to blush and stammer
[And] get feeling downright pervous
I'm afraid of naked women
Though I'm happy as can be
'Cause it seems naked women
Are not afraid of me
(v2)
Then when they smile
But with perilous eyes
And their nails trace a plan on my back
I dread to imagine
What schemes they might have
And how soon they'll launch their attack
Chorus
I'm afraid of naked women
They make me tense and nervous
I start to blush and stammer
[And] get feeling downright pervous
I'm afraid of naked women
Though I'm happy as can be
'Cause it seems naked women
Are not afraid of me
Bridge
At the sound of a sigh
Or the flash of a thigh
And the swish as the silk hits the floor
I can't help but tremble
While thoughts disassemble
As women laugh, locking the door
Chorus
I'm afraid of naked women
They make me tense and nervous
I start to blush and stammer
[And] get feeling downright pervous
I'm afraid of naked women
Though I'm happy as can be
'Cause it seems naked women
Are not afraid of me

Cool lyrics DD! It's amazing how you can write so well from a man's perspective in your lyrics :~)
I'm wondering though, ha, that maybe, women are afraid of naked men lol Hm, maybe a follow up song?
Your right, postsecret.com has some pretty cool pictures & lyric inspiration! Thank you for sharing!
The sail boat sinking drawing and verse, really got me: "being who i am would destroy my family... so i keep quiet and destroy myself instead"
But back to your cool lyrics, from verse 2, i especially like:
"...And their nails trace a plan on my back
I dread to imagine
What schemes they might have
And how soon they'll launch their attack"
...i really dig that lyric DD, nice work!
Thanks, Satchwood. I'm pleased you got a kick out of this one. :D
The postsecret.com site is amazing; messages range from ultra-light to ultra-heavy.
Donna
I've not run across too many naked women that scare me, but I am definitely afraid of naked men. Satch, I think you're on to something.
Gentlemen, I'd be delighted if you'd take this under your collective wings. ;)
Donna
Wonderful lyric, Donna! :)
Some nice up-tempo classic rock music would be a good fit.
Regards,
Steffen
