:) Yes, Blackbird is certainly the most-posted song of BeatlesFest. This is the 7th version. Although, yours is the first posted
for BeatlesFest. All of the rest were posted before the festival started. And yours is quite unique with its brilliant instrumental arrangement.
What instruments did you play in this? One of them sounds almost like a plucked violin at times, then a mandolin or uke, then an acoustic guitar. I can't quite decide what it is.
Well done, Farmjazz!
WOW indeed !!!!
This is just stunning !!!!
This fest just keeps getting better all the time !!!
Er, thanks fellas.
I played the main guitar part twice, then separated them in the stereo field. Then I added the main (higher) guitar melody and put it in the center. Then I added the mandolin part for color, panned it R16, then added the lower pitched guitar melody to beef it up some, and panned it L20 or something like that. Mastered with the Live Mix effect, and that's it!
It started to rain towards the end of the lower guitar take, and I just left it in.
This truely is a great rendition of this classic well executed and nice flavor
i remember when i messed around with a guitar before keyboard a yamaha
acoustic my guitar teacher was teaching me this. a very tricky and difficult
song to play re chord changes and tempo and feel well done tc NEIL ..
Jaw-droppingly amazing. It's hard to take something so familiar and give it a fresh twist, but you've added a special new flavour that really works - on both a musical and emotional level. Absolutely beautiful.
Refreshingly fantastic version of this song, and there is some guitar playing of the highest quality all over this!
This is the sweetest acoustic guitar playing , to such a professional standard , i just had to comment again , FM , i love your musicianship , i am totally in awe buddy , this Macca classic was the first difficult instrumental i ever learned to play , and once again ,the first song my son wanted to learn , he is amazed by your version , and has asked me to tell you this .
Peace
WOW , WOW , WOW

Really takes this song up to another level. Masterful playing and a very tasteful arrangement.
Bravo!
This is incredible...I love this version. So full of flavour!
Just love the tones you get from acoustic instruments.
Kills me every time.

Amazing FJ!
I love that acoustic sound you summoned up on this one.
That rain in the background just fits in so perfect, God must of heard you playing this and wanted to sit in on the session.
Really nice work man.
Lovely. Absolutely lovely.

Thanks again for all the kudos, guys. I've been playing this song since, what, ninth grade? I've never considered doing it sans vocals until last Saturday when I put this arrangement together. My voice was thrashed, so I decided against singing it, and just do it as an instrumental instead. After a little bit of trial-and-error it came together. Fun!
Amazing cover man. This has a huge wow factor.
This is definitely better than the original! Stunning guitar playing, just stunning. And very well recorded, it works so well and sounds so good. Bravo, this is awesomely good. Thanks so much for posting!
Cheers,
Nigel
5 stars!
Been away for a bit (as always it seems). What a pleasant way to come back and find this. Peaceful and lovely. Thought it deserved a bump.
