getting back to my roots again - bit more minimilist
Love it Trevor. Absolutely great. Just watched the "duo" vid with Mr Abbot. Wasn't expecting that.
Paul
haha neither was I - or Russ come to think of it!
Hot damn Trev
You are a treasure my man...always an entertaining listen.
Your vocals and your guitar work are as smooth as butter.
You make it sound so easy. What a gift.
Nelson
This is Superb!
You are one of those Natural Born Blues men!
This is Pro stuff!
Awesome!
Very nice. I can't help but think of Mark Knopfler here. Are you a fan of his?
bloody magic.
ps i don't need to get back to my roots i just need to do them, wheres ma grecian 2000
Great song! Interesting vocal timing and rhyme structure as it leaves you wanting, then pulls you together. Very nice!
Thanks everybody and yes Ken I think there are overtones of Mark Knopfler in here - I do like a lot of Mark Knopflers stuff in particular the first Dire Straits album and I also like a lot of Delta blues which is also one of his influences. I'm sort of busy trying to simplify my stuff more and seem to be heading back to a blues bass which I am enjoying as its a long long time since I played any blues. glad you enjoyed the post might get time to do another one tomorrow with a bit of luck.
Trev
Every song I hear from you Trev just seems to ooze quality.
You seem to excel whether it be a full on production or, in this case, a more stripped backed simple song.
Another top song!!
Great bluesy song ~ luv the vib!! I dig your vocals, lyrics, and guitar style!
I had to get past my prejudice because in the offline world we have the same first name.
Glad I did!
This is a really good song... really well written, the minimal execution makes it heavy (in a good way), and it's a really fine recording.
Making me feel like writing some more originals myself.
Sheer class. Yet again, it's in a league that the rest of us can only aspire to. Sadly, I think Mr Knopfler himself could only aspire to write something this good these days. The Knopfler influence is clear, but you have such a great control of the music and vocal that it takes its own path to greatness. Your voice has a perfect edge of grit and experience to make this sound so totally convincing. And I can only dream of playing guitar like that, lol.
Stunning!!!
Guitar and vocal are rocking!!! Great stuff!!!
Excellent stuff here trev, not much time to comment apart from to say it's really powerful and well done.
Cheers,
Nigel
Oh boy this is just up up my street. Mark Knopfler yes, but closer I feel to the Notting Hillibillies with the minimilistic approach used here. But at the end of the day it's Trev playing and singing and to me it's supurb............Willie
Keep strippin it back trev. This is spiritual. It's speakin'. It's up there. I can hear Mr Cash singing this, it's that good. More please
Quality guitar and vocalizing. Great stuff.
Leigh
Thanks everybody - glad you liked it feedback is always very encouraging and much appreciated.
Trev
