Title: A cheap hard case for the BR...
Post by: Greeny (No longer active) on September 29, 2008, 04:09:33 AM
I stumbled across a very neat and cheap solution for giving the BR a hard case at the weekend:

I cut out the cartridge holder part of an old Sega Mega-drive game case (like a small video case), and it's a perfect fit for the BR: hard and durable. Perfect.

Before that, I was using a snappy snaps photo box that you get your prints in. It was a good fit, but only cardboard.

Yeah - I'm a cheapskate!!!!!  :)

How do you carry yours?!

My BR lives in a Sony camera-type bag. Lots of compartments for BR, power cord, headphones, sd cards, various in/out cords, extension cord, and manual. It goes with me nearly everyday so I need to have it all together all the time. Its very handy.

I don't know how much it costs; my wife picked it up somewhere.

I keep it in a camera bag too, just the perfect size...

A small two pouch fanny pack carries my M-BR, PSA, spare cards, USB cable, mini-to-mini, and a George Ls guitar cable.

I just built a "cigar-box" style case/holder out of scrap wood this weekend.  I'll post pictures and plans soon.  I wanted to have a tilt-able box to protect the M-BR and make it more ergonomic when I work with it.

Sounds good. I wish I was as practical as that!  :)

In the UK and Oceania, the word "fanny" refers to a different part of the body than it does in North America!  :o

A fanny pack is a hip pack or bum bag ("fanny" means bum in North America).

Yes... the ZZ Top lyrics for their song 'Legs' came across as very funny in the UK: 'She's got legs... right up to her fanny"

I would like Boss to spend less money on the disposable packaging of the MBR, i.e. the cardboard box in which it is packaged, and instead provide a plastic case of the type you describe.

I found a nintendo ds  case for my old zoom pso4. It fits the br with room to spare. Even a little elastic strap to keep it moving around too much, and plenty of space for usb cables etc.
