Glad i get the first reply. This IS my ultimate favorite beatles song. I should say George Harrison. I don`t know what it is but his songs pleased me more.
Rob....your vocals on this are perfect and love your tremelo guitar tone and you nailed that oh so good lead. Perfect!!
Mark..The bass you did on this is so full. I hear everything. It sounds amazing and your backing vocals blend perfect with Rob.
I wanted to do this tune and you guys beat me to the punch. It`s all good.
Hell Yeah this is F%$kin AWESOME!!!
One of George's best songs, and one of the best-known Beatles songs in the world, I'd reckon. Loved everything about the production, which simply exudes class.
Great collab, guys!
Great job guys! I love that you took the time to learn all the guitar parts and the solo. They're an important part of this song and you played them very well. Even the tone sounds authentic. Which guitar did you use, and which patch settings?
Meticulous and wonderful treatment of one of my favourites as well.
Top of the town this one, I am also impresed by the electric guitar playing, we don't hear your wonderful electric guitar playing enough Rob. Oh yeah, thats a monster bass line holding the whole thing together there, great bass & drums Mark. Very very good job.
WOW this Just FANTASTIC GUYS!!
One of my OLE time FAVES!!
you guys did an awesome JOB!
JIM
Brilliant job guys, this is superb all round. Lovely recording, the guitar sounds are spot on, great playing, brilliant vocals and harmonies and superb bass playing from Mark. But the bass is a little low in the mix for me.....
Overall a real gem. Loved it.
Cheers,
Nigel
2nd listen and I'm still at a loss for words. This is booby material.
Oh my word...! This is simply stunning. Everything about it is fantastic. Those guitar sounds! The backing vocals! And in particular the lead vocal.... Rob, you sound as if your 18 years old!! So pure, so smooth, soooooo frickin' brilliant. The recording is bang on, too. All round Laxton's Superb*....

* reported to be Mr Harrison's favourite beer
Thanks for the great comments guys , and Mark , yes you certainly did do it justice , your bass playing is awesome , as are your production and drum progamming skills .
What really knocked me out , was when i received the second mix back and you'd added the backing vocals on the chorus and last verse , you did such an amazing job , faultless.
64 , i used a Rode NT1 condenser mic on the ENH+BCUT mic patch setting for main vox
My PRS SE Singlecut guitar on tremelo for the main rhythm , and my sons Yamaha Pacifica Strat , mic'd through a Fender Blues junior Amp for the solo , all recorded on the BR-800 which i love to bits for ease of use ,
BB , i still don't feel comfortable playing electric as opposed to acoustic , but thanks for you comment mate , oh , and Hen , my missus chuckled at you thinking i sang like an eighteen year old , she said , did he mean eighty year old
Thanks again Mark , your a star
Rob ;D
yeah baby there is something about this one that is really magic. great collab guys hope to hear many more from this pairing, the harmonies got the hairs up on the back of my neck
So amazing! Rob, your voice and guitar tones are devine. Mark, those harmonies - sublime! Guitar solo and bass, guys this is stellar!! I'm glad you kept the drums simple on here...always works best on the MBR in my opinion.

So nicely done. Wonderful guys.
This is it, the best Beatles cover so far, it,s got the lot guitar, vox and production, just got to be downloaded, a magic performance from you both, my fav!!
Oh my. The vocal is so smooth and intimate that it gives a whole new twist on the original. Absolutely perfect control on your voice, and your love and respect for the song comes through loud and clear. Every part of this collab is done with exceptional taste and class. And where have you been hiding those lead guitar skills?!
i cant even think of a word to say how good this is or stress at how much i rate this cover! just everything about it is brilliant. the bass on this is superb, and as for the guitar playing, well thats just spot on! there's not a moment in this cover that doesn't sound like the original. the Vocals are just.. in-cred-ible, if i didn't know this was a cover, i would defiantly think that this is the original! brilliant jobs guys, maybe could do a collab in the near future! let me know.
nice one, all the best!
p.s absolute magic.
This is just too good, and those harmonies are some the best I have heard.
The vocals and guitar work are just faultless.

andy
Bump for our friend ,
three years already that he has left us ...
fantastic work of Mark (Launched) and Rob (Facemask)
Mark,
you were lucky to collaborate with Rob, me as I knew him after his death I did by admiration a cover of a piece he had made on you tube (posted in other bump to day)
About the cover "Something"
There are two ways to make a cover
or stand out from the original: change of tone, tempo, instrumentation, style, etc.
either by remaining as faithful as possible to the original whereas the piece is perfect and deserves to be reproduced identically
I personally like the second modality ...
