Title: Six (Original)
Post by: Rata-tat-tat on July 26, 2010, 03:37:09 PM
Hey folks... sorry I haven't been around here for a while. Been out fishin... enjoying everything that Alaska has to offer. It's been rainy as heck for about a week. Needless to say I've been doin some more Kaos stuff. Here's a little ditty (Techno) I call "Six". I think some guitar could be added to give the track a melody... off kilter guitar leads would be nice. Or perhaps some cowbell... More cowbell!!!LOL

For anyone interested this was all done with the Kaossilator key of (C), basically started with a beat in the "P" presets and just kinda grew from there. The meter is going to be a little off since I didn't stay with any type of timing structure... just kinda let it take it's own form. Anyhow... feel free to use as a backer or whatever tempts you. Inspired by beer... lot's of beer.

Very cool techno vibe!  My first thought was it's the perfect background for a video of old 50s clips of robots.  I found a few on Google vids and Youtube and DLed them only to find I can't edit them in Windows Movie Maker due to them being in FLV and MPG-4 format.  Have tried all afternoon with free converters etc with no luck.  Anyone know the best way to go with this?  Until I figure it out, watch this while it's playing to get the idea.  ;D

Hi, just listened to Mr2Kewl and I'm beginning to get hooked on the Kaossilator. Virtually unlimited possibilities and this piece shows an enormous amount of potential. Gotta wait to get home for a download to do this piece justice.............Good Stuff  Willie

I like it a lot. Like some of the Kraftwerk stuff (which I love...), it has an off-kilter groove and all sorts of clever departures that lifts it way above run of the mill electronic-based dance music. I love the tones you're using. I'd better steer clear of Kaossilators... I'd be seriously hooked doing stuff like this.

I'm not sure what you would want to add to this... it sounds quite complete to me...

Great work!

Truly wonderful Tod, glad you pointed me over here. This is some of the best Kaossilator work I have heard, there's a great vibe here but you never resort to pointless finger twiddling on the touch pad. Great use of the different sounds as well, and nice work on the arpeggiator! Very, very cool indeed, I love this. More please!!!

And Hardlock, the vid is absoultely sick as our younger bretheren say. Great work all round!

Cheers,

Nigel

Hey guys... thanks for all the listens and comments. Truely appreciated. Hardlock thanks for doin that vid. Man it really is a fitting track for that sortta thing. DANGER DANGER WILL!!! Sooo Wicked LOL

After going out to the Kaossilator forum I found Nigels stuff and it blew me away. For anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to try the KAOS... It truely is a very addictive instrument and yes the possibilities are really endless in my book. However... mastery of the touch pad is not happening anytime soon for good ole RAT... I gotta hand it too you Nigel your precission is spot on. This took many takes to get the sounds I was trying to acheive and I still ended up with a few hicups in there... maybe one day I'll fix it. Yah right!!! Until then I will continue to cheat with Audacity.

I wanted to showcase the KAOS's ability to transform different percusive beats along with melodies. Thanks for the compliment Nigel... the arpeggiator is very sweet... I was able to enhance the percussion through arpegging the heck out of some of the instruments... this also took many takes to get it right. I even arpeggiated the drums "I think" little tipsy by then.
Anyhow for those who haven't heard Nigel's post ... here's a "Reciprocating" HI-JACK aka
RECIPROJACKER.

Come on baby
Do it again
Do the shake now
Aint no pain

I'm diggin that track. You've built up a good one. And maxit adding a vocal on top was kind of a surprise. Cool how a inspiration can happen like that.

I've actually got the ikaossilator and I've played with it a little bit. But I've not gotten anything as complete as this.

This much electronica is usually past my abilities - but if you have no objection I may try to add to this really great track. I appreciate the invitation!
