Title: Mandolin/Percussion Jam
Post by: Blooby on July 04, 2010, 04:52:21 PM

My computer saga is ongoing.  It was down for six weeks, was sent to Timbuktu, was returned, worked for two days, and is down again.  Pffffttt.

So here I sit in front of the old lady's computer with just a smidge as an offering.  I bought a mandolin a while back and learned a couple chords on it.  This was played live to a loop along with Dave, MoO's drummer, adding some more percussion with the electric kit.

Not sure what can be done with it as it doesn't really stray too far, but knowing the talent around here, I'm sure it could potentially be spiffy.

Take care.  I miss you big lugs.

I like this one. I made sure my wife listened to it, as I recently bought a Mandolin for her. Her primary instrument is piano and she expressed an interest in learning to play this instrument. More is better, I say. Learn them all.

This song could be the background music for anything, from a belly dancing exercise routine to a sound track for a movie. Engrossing listen. I am hearing even more going on in my mind as I listen to it.

Some more, please.

Thanks for the bump. This post exhausts my knowledge of the mandolin. Pity I could never figure out what to do with it although I quite like SD's belly dancing notion...not by me, though. That would be tragic indeed.

Sounds great Blooby... love all of the percussive instruments in there. The samba beat is off the charts good. Who would of every thought to use a mandolin on such an orangement. My hat is off... you've done it very well.
