Title: Luv Ya (Original)
Post by: launched on May 30, 2010, 01:10:05 PM
Everybody's writing love songs. So I figured I'd write one too. Then the cops showed up after I tried it out...

All one take except for a solo overlay into the MBR hole. I have more time tweaking mastering than the important part  :D.

Mark

Luv Ya

Some people want to know you
Wanna put their arms around you
Buy you a drink
And pass the time

Other people cross the street
To get out of your way
Turn their heads
And walk on by

But I want to know you
Put my arms around you
Tell you I love you

I want to give my heart away
If only for a day
And tell you I love you

And I want to know you
Put my arms around you
Tell you I love you

I want to give my heart away
If only for a day
And tell you I love you

I got a pickup truck
And a couple of bucks
That's as country
As I'll ever be

When we sit on the tailgate
And the stars are shining bright
The country
Is right in front of me

And I want to know you
Put my arms around you
Tell you I love you

I want to give my heart away
If only for a day
And tell you I love you

This is a great song, it had my feet tapping and my face smiling the whole way through.  Lo-Fi beauty.  The lyrics are simple enough, but like anything you write Mark, there is a edge underneath that pulls the listener in deeper.  I really like your solo, thats the way to pick put a groove.

Mark Dude!

This tune is more than stellar...It blows me away..i`ve listened 4 times now and hearing different things every time. I just love that opening and strumming rhythm. Your lyrics and songs are always keepers to me.

Fuckin A Bro!!

It's the naked truth to your songs that draw me in. You have a way of being an open book in a song, and I love that.

It's a bitter sweet song bro. I dig it.

Nice! flows very well, feels very natural-- great little 'slice of life' observatons in there, and it goes down easy...

Always love your style Mark, this is up to your usual standard, one guitar and vox and a little lead that,s all you need here, loved it.

It's got kind of unique strum pattern which is cool. the lead is a nice addition, very well done. And I like the lyric/vox quite a bit, but I wanna hear em better... put that voice up a bit higher would ya?

Hey if they cross the street to get away from you...you didn't need to be around them anyway.
love the lyrics and your vocals were peeeerfect.
Well Done ...You nailed it.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

I'm still recording the acoustic songs on my MBR's internal mic, so it's tough to get the vocals right sometimes. I usually prop it up on a table and put it in front of the 12th fret so I can sing and play at the same time, which is good practice for me.

I'm getting the itch to start multitracking again. I'm just so addicted to raw recordings. Can't get enough of it. Hopefully I'll have a Jeklin disk made  soon, which will solve a lot of problems with levels as I'll be able to mix the guitar and vox separately.

Peace,

Mark

Great song Mark,
I like the percussive guitar strumming and the acoustic lead sounds cool.
I like the vocals how they fit into the strumming and I just love the lines
"I got a pickup truck
And a couple of bucks
That's as country
As I'll ever be"
That's classic.
Nice work bro.

Purity, clarity and all-round quality. The acoustic soloing is out of this world. Another great listen.

Mark, this is great, your fantastic vocal really does suit this lo-fi type of song. The stuttering rythym gives this song a real edge, and that solo, as others have said, was fantastic.

Another launched winner!
