Whoa, Jim!  :o :o :o

It's like 'The Picture of Dorian Gray', with the music just as beautiful as ever, but the recorder has seen better days...

Also reminds of this little scene from 'Mad Max':

[a car that the bikers demolished earlier has been towed to the Halls of Justice]
Kid: Hey Mister! What happened to the car?
Bubba Zanetti: What do you think happened?
Kid: Looks like it's been chewed up and spat out.
Bubba Zanetti: Perhaps it was a result of anxiety.

 ;) :D ;D

I get the jacks part, but how do you get a guitar plug into that small hole?  Hell, a phono (guitar) plug is bigger than that little hole.  I guess you can put an adapter on the guitar plug and make it smaller, right?

Either your MBR has reflective properties, or I see you have the built in acoustic plugin.

Jeez, I thought I used mine a lot, but it looks very good compared to the rickety things you both have.  :D Jim, did you lose your battery compartment cover, or are you showing of your rechargeable batteries?  :P

Then I remembered that I bought the $15US magical sheath that enshrouds my box of happiness. And I also remember that you both opted to leave your units unprotected.

But I suppose when you both get rich and famous, those things will be valued in the same bracket as SRV's strat...

I have one, and although I don't like the feel of it much, it has saved my MBR from a couple of nasty drops that I'm sure would have otherwise damaged it.

As far as protection goes, that does sound depressingly familiar...  :D

Did I hear somewhere that there is a new upgrade to the operating system for the MBR?  I've noticed a few editing bugs that would sure be nice to have fixed? :)

Yep, and mine is in like new condition because of it. Obviously the mic hole is not protected which I've had close calls with. I have resorted to screw top bottles, but when drinking beer or G&T's it's a crapshoot!

I don't use a cover. It's nicely scuffed as a result - through 500+ recordings (all on the original card). It's nowhere near as bad as ORH's though!

The latest update that I'm aware of is version 1.04 which you can download from Roland Germany.

I don't know if it fixes any editing bugs though. What sort of problems have you been having with editing on the Micro BR?

I've updated to 1.4, well on the stolen one (must get a new one SOON!!!). I don't think there's much difference as to editing bugs. I've experienced a few myself, but never taken notes as to what they were so this is just from memory. Sometimes when bouncing the resulting tracks are not complete. Sometimes when copying a track (with repeat > 1) there have been some sync-problems. If the memorycard is getting full the bounce and/or the exported tracks from a mastering process will be skipping a timeperiod in either left or right channel giving weird results. The two first can of course happen if you don't do things right (A-B selection wrong, copying to wrong place), but I've done this so many times now I'm quite certain it has happened also when I'm doing everything by the book. The last one is an obvious error you can't cause yourself and is usually accompanied by a "card read error" or "drive busy". None of these errors are fixed in 1.4.

One road worn MBR. Looks good mate, you should send that to Boss..........They could put it in the museum and send you a new one and loads of other goodies...Just shows the build quality, unlike the microwave I bought today which didn't work, took it back, got another and guess what???? that didn't work either. I made them plug it into the wall in the supermarket before I took it home. Went to another shop and got one that did work. If only Roland made microwaves.........

not yet, he is a clever dog and knows he would die instantly if he even sniffed at my mbr.

i think it is like this because i hold it like a soap bar when i'm singing, so all the buttons n stuff outta reach of my fingers are all still there, but everything  else has been rubbed off.

Quote from: oldrottenhead on September 03, 2012, 12:43:16 PMhow do you get the pic so wee 64?

Well, first I changed your [imglink=][/imglink] to an [img][/img] like it's supposed to be. ::)

Then I added "width=150" to the opening [img] tag.

Like this:

[img width=150]https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/s720x720/538595_10151241969142176_2790232_n.jpg[/img]

You can optionally specify width or height or both, though using both will change the aspect ratio.

For example...

[img width=550 height=50]https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/s720x720/538595_10151241969142176_2790232_n.jpg[/img]

... produces this:

Maybe you have extremely alkaline sweat like Rory Gallagher. The finish was totally stripped off his Strat just from playing it.

Cool! I wonder what they mean by case. Are they talking about a protective case like the BA-MBR-S (http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.php?ProductId=949) silicone rubber case? Or are they talking about the actual hard plastic case of the BR itself? Would be nice if it's the latter. It would almost be like getting a new BR.

They may send you a discount voucher for the BR80 and a case thrown in. Be good if they sent you a BR80 though. They should take advantage of what could be an inventive advertising plan using the road worn MBR, showing how much action Boss products can take and still work like new...........

There`s that corporate industry BS i`ve learned to hate! If something caught their attention that much to comment, you`d think they`d go out of their way and say, i`ll send you a new br-80? If i worked there i would do it!
Just like everything it is customers that make them who they are. Give your customers incentives sometimes. I`m a struggling small company and i do it. It gives me more customers in the end.

Press them you want the br-80 Jim!! >:(

All the velour is worn off the original slip case, and there's electrical tape trying to hold some staples in place to stop the movement / looseness in the headphone socket. My replacement was already well-worn when I bought it. But will lose less paint now that I don't hold it like a microphone.

It originally said 'the green machine' on the old one.
