I wasn't going to post this on the same day as my Peter Sarstedt cover, but this is my final one for the Plugged-In Fest (probably, lol - I just realised I've shot my bolt and it's only May 10th!). It's a more trashy / grimy version of the old Dean Martin cowboy strum-along song. It was fun to do. Just me and the MBR.
p.s. if anyone feels like adding any fancy country guitar licks to this, feel free!
The ultimate drinker's song. This is the way it was meant to be played. Far superior to Dean's version if you ask me. Yours has proper swagger. Love the way you've held the drums back for the first verse. It has a great impact when they come in. Yeah it's only May 10th.. plenty time for another. Hope you do. Loved this one.

I enjoyed that - and I actually am a Dean Martin fan. I would never have thought you could rock that song up - but there you go, it works like a charm. The bass is great, it keeps the song loping along.

Thanks! I'm a Dean Martin fan too. So this was done with a lot of respect to the great drinker himself. It's a very simple song chord-wise, so all the fun came in trying to do an original interpretation.
This is Superbalicious Mr Green!!!!
love the build!!!!
A video would be awesome to this!
Another one that I wouldn't have expected in a million years - but great result! As Kevin says - not a song that you would expect to be rocked up - but you did it with style.

This was pretty awesome. Any time you can rock up DM you are doing something.
I actually think I have this one on a CD, but couldn't remember (or recognise) it now. Anyway, This is great !!! Love this version. It sounds like the song was written to be performed this way. .... I almost get a Stones vibe ... this one could easily segue into Honky Tonk Woman !!
Love it Tim !
I am a Dino fan as well!
He's gotta be smiling if he can hear this version....
Bravo, and who's buyin'?

Really cool cover Tim. You've made it your own.
Its like a country blues, very excellent job.
Wicked cool southern rock/tonk feel. Yep, the world briefly stopped turning after 'ol Dean was gone.

Cool! I've been playing along to this one. There's a definite Stones vibe going on here.
But no-one has mentioned Marc Bolan yet... I'm almost convinced that's who was in your mind when you were singing the ends of verses... :D

Well.... Bolan is an ultimate hero of mine, but I wasn't intentionally channeling him. I guess these things always find a way out though!
If you have any additions to the track I'd love to hear them. Seriously! There's lots of space for some fancy fills or extra interest.
