Hi all,
I just finished up doing this one that I wrote.
It is intended kinda as a demo to my band guys.
If it's do-able then they can play their parts and we can polish it up...
This has something like 12 tracks on it, i lost count....LOL
Drums - MBR
Vox [if you can call it that] - me
Guitars - me
LG
What I heard of it, it sounded really good, the player stopped about a minute in, the vox was really good, will try later to get the full song.
Cool tune, I'm sure your mates will luv to get a grip on this heavy psychedelic droning rocker!! Got that Iron Butterfly vibe to it....ina godda davita baby!!
Its like psychedelic punk. You should put this up in the punkfest LG. This would be a cool song for live play.
This sounds great, I would like to hear the vocal up a bit higher in the mix as it sounds very strong.
Great guitar work throughout, some infectious grooves...I am sure your band will love it!
For something you just threw together, this great. I hope your band dig it and that you make a full version of this. Like others I would like to see (or is it hear) the vocals a bit louder in the mix. Your vocals are good, so don't be afraid to show us what you can do.
Thanks for the reviews guys.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for luck & hope the
boys dig it....

sounds like theres alot going on here
I like it
trippy post man
That's a great riff, Larry. Kind of a heavy Doors / Stooges thing going on. You should bring the vox up in the mix - they are spot on for the song. Feels good hearing your voice too. I like the spoken word ending - very cool. This is a great track. Do you need the rest of the band?! Lol
Great heavy sound, Nice guitar parts. I would turn up vocals a bit, what I could hear sounded good. nice job on this.
Is the Ig short for Iggy? :) Definite Stooge-a-rama going on here...any band would wanna jam on this...and turn up your damn vocals man!!! ;D
Yes, I got the Iggy vibe from this, a great Stooges-like riff there. I like your vox - you're not perhaps a classic rock vocalist like Mr H, but you could do the growly Iggy type stuff very well. Love that riffing, there's great potential here, hope the guys like it!
Sounds pretty damn good for something you threw together as well, I like the sound on the drums and the mix is pretty good.
Cheers,
Nigel
sounds like you had a good time doing this, and that's good. I like the way your voice works with this song.
I like it...big sound, cool riff, Iggy style vocal. I'm sure it will sound great with the band.
guess i'm gonna have to work harder at "throwing something together"
loved it!!
TJ.
Wow, thanks alot, you guys are real confidence boosters!
Well, it would seem that the majority seems to like this
new song of mine. The idea I have here is to have Holdempok
[our] singer in our band do the singing and 2nd guitar.
And that is the reason my vox is so low....Trust me you don't
really want to hear me sing it, when we can have Holdempok
do the vox!!!!

This song was aimed at us [as a society abusing our mother Earth]
I figured with this STUPID oil emergency now going on in the Gulf,
That this is a good time to post the lyrics that I wrote....
Reflection (C) 2010 LG
We looked to Mars, What did we see
Something of ourselves, that used to be
What may have happened, what might have been
Have we been there before, is this our sin
Did we rape her, and then burn her out
Are we repeating this today, do I have to shout!
Oil in our oceans, and ozone in the atmosphere
Cars burning gasoline, and politicians everywhere
Greenhouse effect, nuclear threat
global warming, and another ice age coming
Did we rape her, and then burn her out
Are we repeating this today, do I have to shout!
Let's make some, necessary changes
So it doesn't go, the full cir - cle
We're not ready to, move to a new galaxy
So let's put mother Earth, back as she used to be!
Did we rape her, and then burn her out
Are we repeating this today, do I have to shout!
C'mon people, it's time to make the change!
God, it's gotta happen soon, or we're gonna F_ck up the whole sha-bang!

very good lyrics LG, very good. I got a sorta lump in my throat reading this, thinking about all the harm being done to the Gulf of Mexico at the present, shaping up to become the worst environmental disaster of all time, serious long term damage going down, it makes me cry thinking about it. And your lyrics and song did make me think about it. I think you have a very big song on your hands LG, with Holdempok singing it in his big hearted way, so incredible. Why not do up a version with Holdem singing it, or record a practice of this and post it again. I would love to hear the band treatment of this song. Very good songwriting LG.
I freakin' love this!!!! Whoooo hooooo!!!
It reminds me of tunes from the Kyuss "Wretch" album.
Very cool. I know this one is going to turn out great!
Mark

I'm sure we all agree with the sentiments written here.

Almost missed this!! Very cool tune, Larry! That riff is very catchy and all the song swings well! A slight garage punk and Iggy vibe on this. And your vox is awesome!
Kari
Wow, thanks alot for all the great comments guys.
I just kinda figured that this was a current events political problems
type of song that has a perfect example of our present oil
problems, and was hoping to get everyone upset enough to do
something about this mess.....
LG
This is very cool LG. I love that guitar riff. It sticks in the head. That`s why i like it!!
The lyrical aspect kinda reminds me of The Pursuit of Happiness.Serious, comical stuff!!
great work !!!
Thanks.
This was penned actually before the BP oil 'spill' happened,
But it sure is a fitting time to play this song!!!
