Title: Come and Go Blues Instrumental cover
Post by: galestermusic on April 17, 2010, 03:07:13 PM
Hi everyone! Managed to take my arm out of the sling for awhile and play on the Taylor.
Shoulder surgery was brutal, they did a lot of work.

Anyway heard this song by Gregg Allman called Come and Go Blues, thought I would give my take here. Not about to try to sing lol

Hope this means I'm back, shoulder is really sore

Nice job. That acoustic sounds great and it records really well. Was that just the Micro BR and its internal mic?

I hope you have a speedy and complete recovery so we can hear more of this.

Thanks Saij love the punk stuff you're doing. Wrist forearm and thumb are a little numb today but they said after this surgery I could expect it. It's only temporary thank god.

Will be strumming some more :) have a great day!

Did you say Gregg Allman?  You know my penchant for the Brothers I trust.  As a matter of fact, I just got back from their annual two-day festival and am seeing them again next week. I'm a freak.  But when they do things like Dreams --> Liz Reed --> Midnight Rider --> Whipping Post --> Mt. Jam --> Dazed and Confused --> Mt. Jam, which they did last night, who can blame me?

I saw Gregg play this tune at the annual Warren Haynes Xmas Jam, which is held in Asheville.  He came out with an acoustic and strummed an open G (It is a G tuning, right?), and I went %ucking nuts as I knew he was about to play this (He hadn't played it acoustically in decades).  I'm sure the people around me thought I was a little off at my reaction to a single chord.

Onward.  Great, great job and such a pristine recording.  I wish like hell I could sing, but I fear I would butcher this one big time.

Wonderful.

Welcome back & great acoustic sounds & playing!!  Crystal clear and enjoyable listen!  Some pretty tricky changes in there......... sounds like brother Allman was hanging out with brother Page & brother Howe when he recorded this :)

That's some fine pickin' and recording.  Well played and I hope you have a full recovery from shoulder work.  Takes time.

I'd not heard this tune but am a fan of all things Allman.
