Second attempt at a song on my BR600. Used Bass sim and one guitar track direct and the second guitar and lead were recorded from a line out from my guitar amp.
Welcome Pete!! Great first post!! One of my favorite Thin Lizzy tunes!!
Great vox and great playing !!! Nice lead guitar!!!
Great job!!!

This is an excellent post....Be it 1st or last!
Welcome aboard Mate-y! Aye!

Holy crap what a huge sound here. Great job. If you don't mind my saying, the vocal (which is great) sounds a little lost in the mix, if it were me I would bring it up a bit more, or bring the rhythm guitar down a bit, that is my suggestion. Other than that small point, this rocks hard, this is great, well played, and a very cool song. Great stuff, very well done.
Awesome 1st post man, keep em comin :)
Thanks for your comments and advice on my first post!
I've only ever done backing vocals in the bands I've played with an I'm not really comfortable taking a lead vocal. After re-listening, I agree the vocals are a little lost in the mix. On the first track I did on the BR600, my vocals were more to the front but a friend who heard it said they were too prominent so I kept them a bit lower on "Whiskey..."
I'll post my first track, U2's "One" to see what you think?
Great vox, great playing :)
This is a great job. I like the angry fuzz of the guitars especially. A difficult one to cover, but you really pulled it off. Very well sung, and the vocals sit very nicely in the mix too. Nice one.
Fantastic post Pete. If you remix this song, post it somewhere in the thread, I love progress.
Great sound wonderful guitar work
an agree with all the above.tc Neil
Please listen critique my latest song
I just want to dance with you
great post sounds brill. :)
Great rocky job here. Nice interpretation of a great song, the rhythm guitars in particular sound great. I think the vox sound good, you just need to give them a bit more "welly" in the performance so they sound more like the lead vox. You can hold a tune well and your voice sounds good, you just need to be the lead singer a bit more - I'm sure you can do that. Production is very crisp and clear, well done all round.
Cheers,
Nigel
Great sound well done ....Alex
Welcome Pete,
Glad to have another BR600 user here.
This is a great tune, and you have certainly done it justice.
The guitars sound great, and you have a good voice too man!
Can't wait to hear some more of your stuff!
Well done. The vocal needs to stand out a bit more in the mix, but other than that you've
kicked this tune in the butt.
Welcome.
Gene
Shameless self-bump. 3 years to the day since my first post on Songcrafters! And its appropriate for the Dead Rockstar Fest - Phil Lynott.
I'm glad I found this (with a little help from the what's ap group)!!!
to be very honest I never appreciated this song until I started to understand how iconic it is to the Irish.... then it was like a light bulb went on...and Thin Lizzy's version became the version for me... I like what TG said...angry fuzz guitars...yeah...good descriptor.
love the lead... The vocals sound really good... ain't nothing there to be ashamed of IMO... I have become a believer in "you gotta believe in" your vocals...that sells it...no matter how good you are not everyone is going to love or even like them.... I have made peace with that now...
sing on and rock on brother....

Thanks for your comments Stephen. This was my very first track on Songcrafters and the first time I'd released my vocals onto the world wide web so I was feeling a bit self-conscious about my singing. 12 years on, with the support of this wonderful community, I no longer worry about how I sound. I give each song my best shot.. sometimes I get good feedback about my singing sometimes I don't - it is what it is ! Music is subjective and I appreciate that some people might like my singing while others may not. I love being part of the SC community and the opportunity to form long-distance friendships with wondefrul people like you, and I'll carry on for as long as I'm capable of putting a track together.
Excellent Pete
I really like the two rhythm guitars behind the vocals
I had not heard this song recorded by you...in 2010 I was not yet on SC

Great performance, I missed this 1st time around.
Dont think I was a member then. Excellent.
Great full sound.
Nicely done.
Perhaps the vocals a little more in the mix.
