Title: Singer & Songwriter lots of ideas
Post by: Tymn on October 01, 2009, 11:04:17 AM
Hi folks, as the subject line says, I am a singer and songwriter. I have been using the Micro BR, off and on for about six months and I love it. I bought it out of a need or desire to get some music out of my head. I was living in Seattle for a couple years, and so many songs would come to me while I was traveling to work in the morning. So, I have a number of song sketches that are pretty good.

Now that I am back in California, (trying to survive in this dismal economy) I have found it harder to make time in the car with the recorder. It's frustrating to not have that outlet, so I am trying to figure out where to practice. I live in a shared housing situation right now where belting it out would not be tolerated for very long. So, I am feeling stifled. Man, I really want to start working on these songs again! I am searching for a music sanctuary. Wish me luck!

Till then I thought maybe it was time to reach into this community to see how other folks are making space for creativity in their lives. Can we talk about that in this forum? I would love to know some of the ways that other part time musicians go about creating an environment for singing and songwriting.

I look forward to conversation.

Welcome aboard. Keeping writing the songs... then head to the hills or desert (or anywhere) to record them when you can. Don't get disheartened... we all have real life getting in the way of our BR time.
