A burst of inspiration from a beautiful God-made sight. I went outside a 3AM the other night just to get a glimpse of the lunar eclipse. So awesome. This is about a beautiful sunrise that we all sometimes have the opportunity to catch. God's wonders are all around.

Light as a Flautist by Straight Ahead SamplesI made a new years resolution to quit music making but, as you can see, I broke it. I sincerely hope you enjoy what I'm doing this year.

I was fast asleep but I woke up when I heard this beauty.
This is the kind of music I spent many hours listening to in my teen years. Stuff like Chicago, Blood (Sweat and Tears), Todd Rundgren, and later Christopher Cross. In other words amazing and magical music...
damn John... I think this blows everything I ever heard of you out of the water... and that is a tall order...
i got this on repeat.. some subtle and not so subtle power... blown away man... I am blown away
makes me feel like time is standing still... wow
Great piano playing, nice changes and the mood is just right for the subject matter. Lovely lyrics too. Never give up. Music defines us.
Fine piano throughout and and great song writing, John.
Studio One seems to be under control!
A great song john. Lovely piano playing. But Great music all round. I like the lyrics.
Excellent piano and your vocals always catch my ear for the clarity and perfect pitch. The lyrics are very thoughtful. Well done!
Ferrell, Darren, Chapps, Ron and Stephen-Thanks all so much!
Chapps-Yes.I'm beginning to like S1 better than Cakewalk but their user forum is a bit strange. You don't dare mention the word "Cakewalk" there. You might get an infantile response from some people. ::)

You can never give up music until it gives up on you and it never will, this song is a prime example of that. it's a really nice track, has a lot of emotion within the music and style , very nicely recorded and produced eevrything sounds great. mellow light yet dark and contemplative song. enjoyed, cool strings btw

That's lovely piano playing and some cool chord changes. Accomplished and masterful.
Oh and there's a flute. That's next level stuff. Glad you broke your resolution.

An excellent performance John ,im glad you didnt stick to your new year resolution and I'm sure others on here feel the same.

another beautiful song John! inspired lyrics and ace production/writing.
Always classy writing from you, John. Nice piano chords and that bass weaving around the harmonic structure makes this another winner. I don't have a religious bone in my body but I can appreciate the beauty of the lyrics.
Thank you all so very much for your kind words,
:) John B
I first heard this in total darkness. I intentionally chose a Johnbee song from the player and walked into the forest. I waited for the dog to relieve herself while i immersed myself into the darkness and the bright sounds of Johnbee.
I didn't know what the song was about and after hearing the mention of sun i started to get anxious. I had hoped to keep it dark, but instead i had to cross the street towards artificial light. At least i didn't have to keep on risking walking into a dog dung.
The composition is pure Johnbee. The strings and keyboards. I like the way the arrangement brings different elements into the forefront while keeping the core of the song as pure as the sunlight.
Now i've heard the song three times and it really sounds different based on the listening enviroment.
Another cool composition from John!
Beautiful song John, lovely chord progressions and melody here. Very melancholic sound with a dash of prog. I love the flute solo.
