Just messing on 2 chords and developed into a song... was struggling with the mix for a while so hopefully haven't overdone things...
1 vocal
2 rhythm guitars left and right (same thing played twice)
1 solo
Bass - Harley Benton (love playing bass)
Drums - GarageBand (tried a softer kit)
Cool song, Mike and I like how you have approached the drumming with this one and that softer kit. Good lyrics and that chorus is as catchy as hell. Also, I like the jangly guitar chords and I don't think you have overdone anything in the mix.
Mike...
Whoa man.. this sounds so powerful.
Man, get out the way..
You got this.
Strong...but with ridiculosly great guitar work...
Although thats no surprise
Almost sound like a banjo too.

Everything sounds great and it's a fine song! Dig the lead as well as the chorus. Very cool number! 8)
I'll reiterate that the mix sounds good. The combination of the drums and the phrasing in the vocal melody combine to give an insistent feeling that gives the lyric an urgency you don't always get from a meditative or optimistic message like this one. It's cool to get a positive message early this morning and much needed for a Monday.
Nice bright guitars. Then the slightly Dylanesque delivery of the vocals and indeed the chord progression. Nice job.
Maybe it's because I recently watched the Dylan film (A Complete Unknown) but I agree with Ron that your vocal messaging, delivery and phrasing brings Bob Dylan's style to mind but better. I compliment you for that! The lead solo is excellently put together and played. Overall a cool mix and song!
It's might be the First Day, but it sure ain't the first time i'm hearing this song.
I didn't really know what to say when i first heard this. I'm loving it, but i wanted to keep on keeping on just as a listener. It's a song that hits the nail in the head and plays for its audience. It's slightly alternative in style yet it's modern in a retro way.
Yeah, i'm digging this!
good song and great lyrics. maybe has a bit of a Dylan vibe but essentially your own style
Yeah, I dig the hell out of this...drives along hard ...Beaty and meaty...grooves like old Jack Kerouac on the road of life
The mix sounds spot on to me as well, Mike. Fine song beautifully performed and produced.

Yes just cool, the vocal is the
mainstay, then the track is just excellent.
Wow loved it!!
Love it Mike. The repeated chords has a great kind of addictive effect on the ear. Love the jangly guitars, the drums and your vocals. Brilliant lyrics and just right for the start of the year.
Dylan Schmylan. I had to look to see if this was a Lou Reed or Velvet Underground cover.
An impressive two-chorder. I love the guitar tone on the solo in particular!
Listened to this a couple of days back and forgot to comment. This is a really cool vibe. Like this a lot

Awesome track Mike, great vocal and the lyrics are excellent. The 2 chord groove is sweet and the solo it wicked, I dig the little bit of delay you slapped on there. So great to hear a song from you!
I really like this one Mike, great vocals with a fab music arrangement. And the mix was just right, well done!
yes... the mix is great... and it really is to my ears.
the drums hit just right and the bass.
but the song is amazing and vocally perfect...
I love your voice... the lead almost seems non existent...and I think here that is as it should be... because nothing should over shadow that voice...
yeah man... wow. great choice for the sampler...
