Paris, Texas is a German-French-British-American drama film directed by Wim Wenders, released in 1984.
It won the Palme d'Or at the 1984 Cannes Film Festival.

Forty years after its release, "Paris, Texas" gets a makeover at Cannes. Wim Wenders' masterpiece, which won the Palme d'Or in 1984, is seeing its restored 4K version screened during the festival, ahead of its theatrical release on 3 July 2024. An opportunity to look back at the aesthetic and moral legacy of a film of its time.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to republish the magnificent music from this film by RY COODER, with a new mastering.
which I play with my Weissenborn Anderwood guitar and my Martin 000 guitar.

Wow, Jean Piere this is a gem. Imidiate after I saw the titel I saw a weathered man on a crossroad and this music in my head.
This theme song got stuck in my brain aparently. Goosebumps all over.

Excellent JP.

I was listening before reading and thought... yeah this needs to be in a movie and now I see it is.

Great playing... and good production skills JP

Trés bien.

Ahhhhh. One of my favourite instrumental pieces.

I still have the vinyl and treasure it.

This is really well done JP. You've managed to recreate the mood of the original and I'm really impressed with your slide skills

Well done

Thank you Hook and Geir, that makes me happy... I have to say that I have a weissenborn guitar from Anderwood (a small English artisanal factory in Christchurch) and I have just noticed with horror, by consulting their website page that they have definitively closed :'(

I had bought this guitar via the internet on the basis of the favourable opinions of a few internet users and some videos on you tube.

Like an arranged marriage, sometimes it goes wrong, and sometimes it goes right - I was lucky.

JP, your Weissenborn Anderwood guitar and the Martin 000 sound great together. Your slide work in this is exceptional!

Yep. I can see Harry Dean Stanton wandering around the desert in his dirty red baseball cap.

So beautifully done! You absolutely nail it. The huge reverb and sense of space alone is perfect.
