The missus has been away in Spain all week and I only got one song done in all that time... not good enough:)

I tried to spend less time on this one. Put a more rocky sound than my last one on the guitars. Had to spend a bit of time practicing the chords, mainly because I have trouble playing a b chord  :D  I simplified the b to leave one string open and make it easier  ;D

Thinking about it, the lyrics probably reflect on getting older. Could be the first in a Songcrafters Album called "Songs For Old People"  ;D  ;D

Anyway here it is...

There's some wisdom in this. Stop that.

The guitar tone and the droning quality is super cool. The song could rock harder, but a high-energy groove would be missing the point. The plodding suits the theme – the march of time.

I like it a lot!

I like it Mike! If you had an electric 12 string picking in the background I would think it was a long lost Birds' song. It has a folk rock vibe to it. The words are hitting home for me. I would enjoy hearing your album "Songs for Old People". Well done here!

that's shocking i got three songs done when my wife was in Spain. LOl. Nice rocker, a wee hint of Television to my ears.

Great song, Mike and I agree with Farrell in that it has a kinda Birds vibe. Excellent lyrics and love the sound of that jingling guitar. Live to 99? I reckon I'll be lucky to make 70 LOL.

Luckily Mike you managed to find time to fit this song in..and I'm glad you did. This is brilliant.
I like the heavier, rocky guitars. A catchy melody and great thumping beat.
I try not to think about getting older..those lyrics are good words of wisdom as others have said. Haha.
I don't get time to do everything I wanna do now.

A very timely song (for me at 74). My mom made it to 97 - then off to heaven!

You've inspired me to get back to work on one that's about the pains of getting old. Might end up too long however!

Great song. Dig the harmonies. 8)

Hey i'm really loving this!

This has all your great trademarks going for it and lyrics that are relatable. The only thing i don't understand is the trouble with B. I mean just play ONE string if need be :D Just because there are more strings in the guitar doesn't mean they need to be used...

But yes. This is lovely and works a treat!

I thought for sure this would be a cover song.... you are a great songwriter Mike...

I already knew that though... funny about the b chord... I have learned to "cheat" on many and that is def one of them... guitar snobs be damned!

one day I may only be able to play open notes... so as long as we can we play on as best we can...

this is a really nice track... I think this would make it on the radio in any generation... you can almost any songs over and over and eventually people will like it and start singing etc... however we don't get the luxury... so you gotta hook them in the first 10 seconds or click off... but no matter... because we don't really try and write songs for the masses... at least I don't...
