I spent weeks on a different song but in the end it didn't work out so I have shelved that idea for the moment. As a way to make me feel better (although this tune is a bit miserable :)) I decided to back to a more familiar style for me.
The title came I think out of the blue and went for a walk and a bit of the tune and a couple of lines came, being careful not to be spotted singing on the street recorded a snippet. Anyway this is it...
1 main vocal, 1 backing vocal
2 guitars left and right
1 Bass - cheap HB mini bass (my best purchase pound for pound)
1 organ sound played on guitar via Boss SY-200
Drums - Mr GB
Flipping love this Mike....menacing and spooky....it's got the spook....love those background vocals....love the lyrics....love your vocal delivery....love the guitars .....and great punchy bass......total pro song in your usual awesome style.....oh yeah, almost forgot....love the wonderful understated solo....just perfect
Yes cool stuff from, Mike S, loving the vocal and the vibe, that guitar break is just class, enjoyed it lots!!!
That's a cracker of a song Mike.
Love this. Cool song, Mike & those guitars panned left & right sound great. Lyrics are dark and suit the overall mood of the song perfectly. Then that guitar solo at 2:39 .... beautiful.
Loving it Mike a beaut of a track
Attention grabbing intro. Like the panning of the guitars (my default when I record). Cool compostion and well produced.
the guitars are so pro and sound awesome.
I dig the lyrics... could be an excellent video track. Awesome writing and recording Mike! The way BB describes it I agree... this has life in it...
your solo soars!
This has the wow factor for me great song, performance and production. Very impressive stuff, Mike.

When i hear a Mike song i always go for the vocs. Then comes all the other good stuff which there's always a plenty and this is no exception.
I like the build up you're able to achieve here both musically and lyrically. The drum beats are also inspired. Something a bit different from the norm.
A song that gets under the skin. Great stuff Mike!
Wow smoking song brother love everything about it
Bravo Tim
Really good song Mike! The lyric and melody here particularly stand out and you deliver a great vocal on top of it. Really nice music to go along with it: fine, fine work!
Yes, I love this one Mike it's great! Spot on instrumentation and vox, and a perfect mix. I'm sure you'll get on with your other tune someday!!
Hi Mike, had a nice listen here.
I really like it.
Love the clear recording , delay sounds ,and of course the vocals are really good.
Always love a Strat, I believe that's what you are using?
Loving this Mike, you can certainly write and perform a great song !
Pete
Brilliant songwriting, Mike! Widely panned guitars and backing vocals sounds good. Guitar solo is icing on the cake...enjoyable listening.
glad to hear this beauty again... sure the lyric content is a bit tough to swallow... but it also seems very true... so that makes this a warning... a kind of "watch out who you think is your friend" kind of song.
the guitars sound amazing... the way you bring that one in at just the right time over and over again..
I love this mix... it is awesome... way way up there for me
Another great song I hadn't heard before, thanks Stephen for bumping this. The music is brilliant, love the lyrics too.
Yes, one of his own Stephen M makes some of the best tunes, imop, cool stuff, loved it !!
A very good song Mike! Outstanding vocals and the guitars are so plush. There's a message of warning in the lyric that can be applied to many situations. Nicely done on the solo!
The haunting melody is perfect for the lyrics. The production is brilliant. The guitar tones, the chord structure, the vocal setting, the rhythm ... it's all there. Excellent song.
