Well, this was different. Fingers were sore, finger nails are purple from where I smashed them.
I guess this is what makes Roger Waters who he is. Its a different sound. While I was playing, I realized, I'm not a fan of playing in Gm. Just didn't feel natural to me, maybe it was my fingers hurting.
I too am addicted to my guitar and its hard for me to put it down! :)
So here is my two strings worth LOL!
Great licks, really interesting, a lot of stuff I'd like to be able to do.
It was also my first Gm track too.
Hope your fingers get better soon, this proberbly mean you play even better than this. I'm jealous...
AverGo, I wanna share something with you. Those things you want to do are there. But your take on blues will be different than others. Some get very complex and others very simple, but the message, mood, feeling etc are conveyed. For example, Clapton...I've seen him hit the same note eight times in a song and with each pluck of the string a different meaning put into that one note.
I think its Satchwood that had a quote of Satriani in his signature...
QuoteSome of us are going to play faster than others. Hitting the right notes and getting your technique right is so much more important than speed.
~ Joe Satriani
To me that is what music is about and what the blues are about. I want to make the person hear what I'm feeling at that particular note in the specific time period!
Keep at it and it will come and you won't even expect it.
My fingers were rolling on the upper fretts, I don't think there swollen but they hurt, dropped a window on them putting an AC in.
I'm neither good or bad I just play what I feel.
Thanks for the comments! :)
You are right, I just need patience in fretboard maneuverability learning.
QuoteI'm neither good or bad I just play what I feel.
I say good, very good. Big balls tone there lestg. Yes sir that is great. If that is your handicapped blues playing, I shudder to think what the healthy version would sound like. Let the power of the blues heal you! Really great playing, I like this one a lot.
wow this was totally cool!! I liked the sound. And some slow some fast notes. I great hammer on also. You guys will have to keep working to show us newbies all you licks. LOL Yah I'd hate to see what you sound like without smashed fingers. Awesome I am sure. Awesome anyway.
Cool blues 8).
Don't you just hate bloo*y windows sometimes? But you didn't say which hand it was-------No way was it your fretting hand ;D
Very nice! Liked the tone. Worked very well. What patch did you use?
To me it seems like gm is your friend !! Sounds really great, great playing!
OUCH!!!! Yeah it was my fretting hand LOL. When he said it was in Gm Pent I was thinking that I could play Em Pent over it but that is only for GMaj as Em minor is GMaj relitive minor. Was going to play harmonic minor in I V position but was some raised notes. So I started grabbing gm pentatonic in different positions and then settled down on I position high on the neck. It as fun to play but I think this is what gave Roger Waters his niche in rock n roll. I love Pink Floyed!
I think used P61 Saijinn, I may have tinkered with it can't remember. I need to make me some xls sheets and start keeping track of this stuff lol :)
Thanks everyone! :)
Nice and noodly cool blues licks there Lestg!! I enjoyed listening to this!!
Great tone - hot licks!!
Mark
NICE!!!!!
JIM
I've been getting my full quota of blues today, lol. This is excellent. Understated and soulful at the start, but then it takes off to show your very considerable guitar skills. Lovely weeping tone. Top quality stuff.
Nice!! I feel it man!! Fantastic playing!!
Wow, pretty powerful stuff for someone with limited fingers. Some great licks here, loved your slides early on. Lovely meaty tone as well.
Cheers,
Nigel
