Title: Lost in the Process

A new one. This one started off when I was out for a walk one morning. The title and opening melody came to me and I sang it on the iphone while nobody was watching :) then strummed a few chords when I got home and wrote a few more lines. When I had more time I fleshed it out a bit and here it is.

1 vocal
1 bass Harley Benton cheapy
2 guitar tracks Mex Strat
2 keyboard tracks Garageband
Drums Garageband

It's a big day in the Berry household when a new Mike_S song drops.....and damn man, this does not disappoint....I love everything about this.......I can't get over how your vocal sounds like Greg Keelor....Founding member of Blue Rodeo.....I am sure I have mentioned this before....but it is strong on this one......that's a big compliment in my books..........I think this is fantastic ...your songs always sound so professional to my ears, excellent recording, songwriting and delivery...the only thing I missed was a wee guitar solo to round it out...lol...

It's a brilliantly constructed song Mike.  That guitar melody is catchy from the off and love the sound of your vocals.  Very reminiscent of mark Knofler. Great lyrics and those synths in the background in the chorus really flesh it out. Also love the drums from GarageBand.

Cool song, Mike and very nicely arranged/produced. Those strumming guitars drive the song along just right and the synths add another dimension. Nice clear vocal track and incisive lyrics too. Great job; well done.

MAN...I love your voice Mike. It's got such a bite with melody backed up to it. I love the words here especially but the backing is great too! Those synth strings are heavenly, and the guitar tones are excellent as well. You've done it again, another awesome song!

as I said in a previous message (to berryP), I don't go to the original song very often because I don't understand the lyrics and I need the scroll lyrics, so thanks Mike for having it here

a great song and so well recorded/mixed

I am blown away by the overall quality of the orinal song

Back for more.........so very good......got the good headphones out today.......that bass is so in the pocket.....I couldn't hear it too well previously........if it were me, I'd be tempted to put the bass up a tiny bit more........I am always telling Keith to put his bass up more...lol....I love bass that punches through ...when you can play bass good it needs to be heard and felt......great song

What a great tune Mike I love it! Great chord changes, awesome playing and singing. I always wanted to try Garage Band, but my iPad is too old. Even got one of those Behringer thingys for it.

Anyway well done, this is badass!

Mike ,this is excellent, probably one of my favourites from you.
The mix is spot on ,tight guitars with the drums and the vocal has the snarl of Tom petty on the chorus.
Had it up full on my way to work and on my way back this morning.
A great track performed brilliantly.

I generally don't wait this long to get to a Mike S song but lately I have had a lot going on and getting to the site hasn't been easy... but I heard this a number of times today.  My thoughts were that it is def a Mike S track but that synth has added a wonderful new element.  Congratulations on learning how to make the SY-1 work so well for you...
and the usually great vocals and lyrics (great topic) and the guitar work is per usual exc... and the beat drives along powerfully.

Brilliant in every way Mike.  Catchy as hell and lovely production throughout.  Very expressive vocal. In fact the whole song is impressive in every way.

Back for more...Loving your vocal, great attitude, cuts through like a knife...perfectly executed... the Harley Benton jingle jangles nicely pumping bass excellent production a cracking track

wicked good track as they say up north east... The vocals are even better this time around against that jangling guitar... it's really a strong vibe and the strings add the cherry to the cocktail.

Nice..

Tom Petty Bob Dylan vibe, particularly within the vocal delivery.

Like your phrasing at the ends of your words...really works a treat. Nice colour
