The Members were a punk / new wave band who had a few modest hits in the late '70s. This is probably the best known of them.
I have a copy of the 7" going back to that time, which I bought mostly because of the 'punk rock electric guitar' bit.
Nicky Tesco was the writer and singer of the song. He died last year age 67.
I dug out my old Zoom multi-effects pedal (I've been using onboard GarageBand effects for years). It has an expression pedal so I was able to get wah on the Tele in the solo). The bass is my Squier.
That's a cracker Nick ! love it! I know it's from 1979 but you give it a more authentic 1977 vibe if you get my drift. In places almost like the early Clash covering the Members. I'd thought about covering this but the drums put me off ...too complex for me to put together ! Perfect match for you though, love the vocals and and the guitars and drums. Top job !

Yes, this is fantastic.......what a great sound all around
Damn! I had forgotten about the artist, but never the song. I've been annoying my wife for years by "singing" this to her in the most (in)appropriate moments :D
Perhaps i can now stop singing as i have this recording by ODH!
This is one of those songs that are custom made for ODH. But in a way they all are...
I know that many people have thrown out their Zoom pedals, but sounds like you've buried yours. Glad you were able to find it. I guess you had a treasure map with a big X marking the spot for the Zoom.
This is quality entertainment. No bones about that!
Edit: I checked the original from Youtube and what did my tired eyes see! Fender Mustang! Oh, yeah!
Gaun yersel Nick. I had the 45rpm of this back in the day. Magic.
A proper new-wave classic. It has more welly and punk attitude than the original, and is all the better for it. Love those gnarly, snarly guitars. It feels like you're really in your comfort zone on this - just perfection all-round to my ears. So good I had to listen twice!
yeah man... this is the goods... really pro and live sounding...
those guitars sound massive....
