Paul Ryder, bassist and founding member of "Madchester" band the Happy Mondays died in 2022. Here's my tribute - Kinky Afro from 1990.

Pete,
I really love the guitar sound and that keyboard.  The intro sounds so retro cool... the whole thing actually.  Your vocals just really work so perfect here... awesome work man.
then that lead.
to be really honest this reminds me of a merging with early Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers with some of the 60's pop bands that were so good.
This rocks a ton!  It is a major tribute.
I can't say I know the song but man I do now!!!!  It's great.

Hi Pete,
Agree with Stephen, love the guitar, and the vocals is so nice.
This is a superb recording, and a great choice of song.
RIP Paul Ryder.
Thanks for sharing this beauty!
Wishing you the best for 2023!!!

You've managed to take the essence of this song and keep it together while adding your own vibe into it.

This is what Happy Mondays might have sounded sober :)

Cool cover! (I'm on my third listen :)).

Fantastic Pete. Really captured the mood and swing of the song. I never saw Happy Mondays but I loved their music and this is a fitting tribute to Paul.

I've got another (different) HM  song I was / am hoping to do before the fest runs out.

Great job and I am glad you've done this.

Such a cool song to cover, great guitar part and an excellent vocal. UK in the 90s was a goldmine of great stuff musically.

I don't know this song, Pete but I sure do like what I'm hearing. The grit in your voice fits perfectly with the groove of the song. Your guitar playing is very retro and cool! The opening with the keys grabbed my attention immediately. I can't imagine the original being better than this, well done!

What Tim said. Pete you have excelled here. Your voice fits this like a glove, loads of character and grit. I love this song and the Happy Mondays anyway. Corking job really enjoyed it.
