I recently bought Native Instruments Session Horns Pro and was experimenting with it. It seemed to fit perfectly into a new song I was working on. Some of the horn arrangement here was edited pre set patterns and some of it was my own arrangement.
Hope you enjoy it.
another John Bee stunner! the lyrics are just so good... and I can totally relate too...
the music is at the same level as the lyrics and vocals...so it is all very good, very pro...
it is nice that you can find new tools/toys to play with and build sounds with... isn't that a good fun and challenge? Good for the brain to learn new things...
a little Chicago too... like it.
Merry Christmas John!
Always enjoy listening to your music, John. Love the flowing melodies and abstract harmonies, all placed nicely in the mix. Horns sound great too adding that Chicago feel that Stephen mentions.
The Chicago-ish horns sound great John. Really good lead vocal, harmonies, lyric and melody. The bass and drums even remind me of Chicago. Well done!
Very cool. Nicely constructed song and I like the vocal delivery. Trumpet sound is a nice touch.
Lots and lots going on here listened to it twice to catch everything the key work is sublime and complex sounding at the same time
Nicely done
Tim

Lovely vocals, as always.
Congrats on your new Native toy.
Another gem of a creation, well done!!!

Really cool song John. Intriguing chord sequences, fine vocal and lyrics and the muted brass adds to the slinky feel. The drummer was on form and the false ending almost caught me out. But I know better than to hit stop to soon!
Fine song.

Hi StevenM, Ray,Farrell, Ron, Tim, Rene & Paul, and thanks so much for listening!

That playfulness. Those melodies. The chords changes and harmonies fly way above my head yet you're still making it all so easy to access.
Those vocals are great (as always) and the mix is the definition of clear. Those horns sound great too. And that bassline.
Great song(writing) and arranging skills.

Another brilliant piece of pop jazz song. Everything sounds so good!
Well done, John!

It is like Chicago... and that is pretty darned good. I didn't listen to that many Chicago albums (or should I say 8 tracks? which is what i had) but the ones I had i wore slap out... I tend to listen to music groups hundreds of times per album... I bond with the music... it is etched into my soul...
it never goes away...
and now the great John Bee is also etched... I think even in heaven I will be able to refer to this... hear this again...

Thanks again, Steve.
Just want to say that I've been a huge Chicago fan since 1970. especially when their original guitarist, Terry Kath was still there. Their second album (w/"25 or 6 to 4", Make Me Smile", "Colour My World") is my favorite album of all time and I've owned it in almost every format (LP, CD, 8-track & cassette) and wore them all out and I'm so glad the great producer, Steven Wilson chose it to remix because he did an awesome job with it. I'm also a big fan of Tower of Power, another horn band. I love and I'm proud of the Chicago compare but I feel the arrangement in this song is more Tower of Power than Chicago mainly because I use the TOP line up with 2 trumpets in the high end and a baritone sax (and trombone) in the low end. Chicago rarely uses baritone sax (but has on a few album tracks) where TOP uses it constantly. But I appreciate all who compare me to Chicago, although I'm not anywhere near as good. Thanks again.

I think Blood, Sweat, and Tears were on a lesser level but very similar style. Obviously the vocals were different but the music had similarities. I think bands more toward this style have made a minor comeback these days...
This is a really nice song, very well put together. I love the style, those session horns sound great too.
Great guitars and drums. Love your vocals and overall sound.
Darren
Nice sounds on this ,New york vibe for me .
Alot going on,horns sound fab .
Nice one.
I love how fearless your vocal melodies are. Very cool tune. Money well spent for those horns as they sound remarkable. Are the horn swells your doing, or is that an option in the software?
I really zeroed in on the bass on this one.
Blooby
Great song .. for sure there's a Chicago vibe to it .. :)
Great lyrics, really liked the Native Instruments Horns section.
Well done.
I love your melodies. The chord progressions demonstrate a depth of understanding and challenge the listener in unexpected ways.
Steven, Darren, Kenny, blooby, godingc
and lurker-Thanks guys!
Bloody, the horn swells are programmable in SHP via keyswitch.
