I thought I'd have a go at doing a kind of Cajon version of this old American folk song just for a bit of fun.
I asked Jean Pierre if he would add in some slide guitar and he very kindly obliged with his great style of playing. Merci beaucoup, Jean Pierre.
Thanks again Ray for inviting me to this beautiful cajun version of Picke a bale
I like everything : the stereo miaxage of the voices, the accordion, and it seems to me that you have brilliantly added a harmonica track at the end ;)
A little slice of Americana here so wonderfully performed. Your musicianship is outstanding.
Rock on!
a superbly fun toe tapper... where is my jug? This reminds me of some of the fun songs that the 3 Stooges did on their shows... they were so great...
nice job Ray and JP
Why is this so good? Because you're cheating. When you couple a kangaroo with eurasian pygmy shrew you're bound to get great results!
This is such a real toe tapper that even people with less than full set of toes would be wiggling their appandages in approval.
The only thing i would need to push the enjoyment of this song into the highest gear would be a jug of moonshine. Then i'd be tiptoeing thru the tulips and eating daffodils.
How's that for constructive criticism?
S'il vous plaît messieurs et désolé de vous comparer tous les deux à des animaux.
Truly, a fun song.
A toe tapper, indeed!!!
Love this recording.
And the slide guitar adds on to the exquisite musicality of the both of you.
Thanks for this beauty.
Rene
I saw this in the board, and I thought, "Good God, why?" I couldn't imagine why anyone would cover this cornball song. I couldn't imagine that it would be worth listening to it. Clearly I suffered from a failure of imagination.
Excellent and very Lively. I have two or three compilations of classic Americana songs. If this song were to pop up while I was playing my music on shuffle, I would simply assume that it was from one of these compilations. Ironic that there is no American in sight here.
This was a lot of fun, makes you smile from the outset. great job guys in making this such a enjoyable listen, not sure i know this song vaguely i think, 2 minutes of much needed joy right here.
Now that's a toe tapper and a lot of fun
